To summ it up, it looks like this lockbox contains a worlddrop rare, a gem, and occasionally a bonus uncommon item. Definitely worth to keep it! :)

This is where I got the Sovereign Twilight Opal design. It dropped off the Stormpeak Wyrm in the Titanium lockbox. On a happy note, it also included the opal to cut and a green.

only bs himself can use keys to open it.

It seems worthy to note that this item seems to have the highest drop rate of all of the new world drop JC patterns.

If your a blacksmith and have your BS skill up to 430 these lockboxes can be opened with a Titanium Skeleton Key.

Don't expect to open one and see a BoE; as I received a Book of Glyph Mastery, an uncommon gem, an an uncommon piece of gear.

I could of swore this guy told me it dropped a Epic Sword for him.
He was a rogue, and said he bought it for 1.2k, which was ''cheap''.
Am i mistaking this one for a different lockbox? xD

I just obtained one off of an Ice Steppe Rhino in Storm Peaks, but it doesn't have them on the list of mobs that can drop one.

dont just junk these they have a chance of holding an epic stormjewel. had a guildy send me one and i was so jealous when i unlocked it and peeked inside. :(

Do they just drop off mobs or do you need a rogue to pickpocket them ? or is the same drop chance for both ways ?

I recieved Zabra's Misplaced staff and a Book of glyph mastery, if you have this do not auction it or anything , because the staff i got is abouts 150g alone on my server.

I just farmed the trisfal slags for 2 hours and they do not drop the lockboxes like stated. if your like me and are farming lockboxes for the glyph book do not waste time on the stags they drop whispy tails crushed hoofs and toughened flesh ( low drop rate) these stags also are very spread out and have about a 15 minute spawn :( big waste of time.

Had one drop just recently, mailed it to a rogue and when I got it back it contained a single blue and a Froststeel Lockbox. Waiting for the contents of that lockbox.

I have to say, after all my years of playing and just when I thought I had done/seen EVERYTHING, it's nice to be able to find a neat hidden gem. Was farming for battered hilt in Halls of Reflection when I had one of these drop. I thought it was neat to find something that I had never seen before and never knew existed, really gave me a smile on my face, now to open it!

I got one of these running older content this week and even after picking the lock it won't open. relogged and everything, still nothing. not sure if it's a WoD bug, but I sent in a ticket.

Like silentlalita below, I also had one of these that I could unlock, but had an empty loot window and didn't disappear when I tried to open it. I ticketed also, and a GM removed it and mailed me a new one. That one opened (and had a blue and a green piece of gear in it) - so if you have this problem, a ticket may get you a working one.

For all those who opened an empty lockbox - on June 17 there was a hotfix:

Bug Fix - Fixed an issue that could prevent players from opening Titanium Lockbox or have no loot when opened.
