As a Prot Paladin, this food is very appealing because I can "double dip" to gain both the AP as well as the SP benefits. Almost every ability I've got will scale with both so this will be the definitive buff food for much of the time.

Time to level up fishing I guess...

I don't think it's like a mage table; I think it's more like the romantic picnic basket: You click on it and sit down and get the buff, you don't get an item that you can eat. So no, you can't get a box.

I was just in a group with a paladin who set out this feast the other day. It gave the exact same buff as described in the tooltip above. At the time though I didn't realize it was a rare feast, so I didn't get a chance to ask him yet where he got it.

The feast is an item that you click on like a mage table -- specifically its a big boar on a platter, and its mouth is stuffed with fruit. So this recipe is definitely in the game. I'll try to track down the player again but perhaps this is a VERY rare recipe from the Dalaran cooking daily?

As a retribution paladin who never has mana trouble, I can see the boost to spellpower as a minor off-set to the lack of benefit from pure AP on anything. (AKA not being strength) I use consecrate on all fights where it is viable to boost my damage, since large strikes from judgments on seal of blood net me big secondary heals. In any case, I'm still a little sad it won't the best possible boost to my attack stat, but it's still totally viable for most of the party... and that's the point... "Most." Other melee dps folks find more utility with the attack power, and that's fantastic.

I guess when I find myself a few points shy of idyllic situations I'll find a little bit of a respite knowing that I'm the only one in my extensively progressed guild who is nice enough to ever bring any kind of feast. That's the price one has to pay sometimes.

As of patch 3.0.8 the Fish Feast recipe will be available from the Dalaran cooking supplier (Derek Odds or Misensi) for five Dalaran Cooking Awards and is trainable at 450 cooking skill. Originally the feast was to require four Northern Spices but has been reduced to only one spice per feast.

Musselback Sculpinx2
Glacial Salmonx2
Nettlefishx2
Northern Spicesx1

Note: Just like the Great Feast before it, the Fish Feast is not a mage table. You will not receive anything in your inventory. Just right-click the feast to begin eating and receive your well-fed buff after ten seconds of remaining seated.

It is a real pain to learn this recipy. It requires 450 cooking to learn and the previous recipies turn grey at 450.

449-450 took exactly 103 attempts for me, so expect some grinding before you can impress your raid.

Does anyone know how many charges this has? I saw it dissapearing in 25naxx much quicker than the 3 mins it's supposed to last, so i'm assuming it has limited 'charges'

I noticed that the spellpower granted by this is not applied to healing because when i right-clicked to remove the buff I did not see any change with my healing bonus. Can anyone confirm this?

I'd like to point out that if you are a fisher, the mats for this are much easier to get in addition to the food itself being superior to it's meat alternative. The main downside I see, is that 450 cooking is much easier said then achieved.

For those of you that farm these fish for your raid to use (like I do), you will be able to catch all of these fish in Wintergrasp in patch 3.1. The supposed catch rate of each fish is around 33%, so you should be able to fish up enough fish for a feast in a mere couple of minutes. Not to mention that Wintergrasp also has the new clams that you can fish up with a guaranteed pearl or siren's tear and a lot of meat.

I dont know if I'm looking at the right fish feast. I'm looking at the one that costs 5 Dalaran Cooking Awards and 1. it IS soulbound. I just purchased it and it IS BOP.
Also it appears they have changed it with 3.1 patch so that it is 450 to learn but you also have to have 425 cooking to even eat it. Can anyone confirm this for me.

If this has been said already feel free to down rate, but I was running some 58-60 through Ramps and decided to drop one down just for a buff. They were all able to eat from it so the level 70 is just to use the feast, not for the level to eat from it.

The people in the group got a rather nice 1 hr buff for leveling.

Considering that in the same amount of time you could have done dailies and/or farm better stuff to get much more gold... I still think is way better buying fish from AH where people just throw stacks for low prices (high competition due to daily fishing and turtle rarity).

I can confirm that toons (at least) as low as 10 can eat this & get the buff. I put one out for a guildie who was needed help w/ RFC. He ate it and went from 295ish HP to 695. Was soloing the instance w/ me there to watch & laugh. (I'm a 72 DK) His only problem was when he tried to solo the boss. I stepped in & finished it when he was about to die. It's a huge buff for a low level toon. I'm going to test it tonight w/ a level 6 druid I'm trying to level & see if it works.

It requires 425 cooking to use... So even if you are not a 450 cook you can still set out feasts. You however must buy them from the AH or get a fellow cook to help you.

You can eat this at any level as long as you are in the group with the person that laid the feast down. Yes this means 19 twinks can eat this and get the buff.

You CANNOT lay it down until you are level 70 though. I figured this out when my cooking skill was at 288 on my twink, so I lost a couple hundred gold leveling cooking.

Best place in my opinion to fish for the mats is the southern lake by the southeast graveyard. I usually put on Aspect of the Beast, dismiss my pet, hop on a plate of ice and fish away. I have 450 in fishing and use 135 extra fishing skill from my pole, fishing hat, Captain Rumsey's Lager and 1 glow worm for a total of 585. I spend 1 hour a day fishing in the same spot and I catch exactly 75 of each glacial salmon, nettlefish and musselback sculpin, along with 5 giant darkwater clams. When I finish, I can cook 35 fish feast's. I usually bring a paladin fishing partner with me, as fishing can be boring. I've never had an alliance character find or kill me when I am doing this, probably because of the 38k hp of my partner.

Okey, here is where you get the different fishes.

You can fish all the 3 diffrent fishes in any lake in wintergrasp, but if you want to fish one and one of them here they are:

Nettlefish:
Go to River's Heart in Sholazar Bashin (48.65)
Lot's of schools.

Glacial Salmon:
Go to the Blue sky logging grounds in Grizzly Hills. (38.33) There is many schools in the water, but you can also take a ride down the rivers.

Musselback Sculpin:
Go to Lake Kum'uya in the middle of Borean Tundra (51.44)
Many schools there.

Northern Spices
You get this from "Daily cooking" in Dalaran.

You get this recipe for 5 cooking awards and you need 450 cooking skill

The best place to go to fish for your mats is right above icemist village in dragonblight around (24,35) you're fishing bobber will look like it's in the rock but still is very affective for fishing for the mats, and you don't have to worry about getting attacked by pvpers because you're not flagged:) and it's also a good place to fish for the fishing daily quest " Dangeriously Delicious"

Unlike Great Feast which has an individual counterpart in Dalaran Clam Chowder, the Fish Feast has no counterpart for individuals. However, most classes and specs probably don't make much use of both attack power and spell power and would prefer one over the other.

At time of writing, all of these incidentally give also 40 stamina, and the buffs last 1 hour just like Fish Feast. There are two in each category: one that's meat, one that's fish. Good news for those that don't want to bother to fish up their food.

The absolute best place to fish for Fish Feast is Wintergrasp, as of patch 3.1. The droprate for Musselback Sculpin, Glacial Salmon and Nettlefish have about 33% each to catch (and a small percentage for Darkwater Clam). So after a couple of hours fishing, I had around 50 of all the three

Agreed, I take these with me orb farming. After TB I snag a free ride to WG pvp, knock that out and then farm these. Doesn't take long, and the rate that each fish drops pretty much keeps them close to even stacks in your bags.
