To clarify, Unique Equipped (3) means that you can only wear gear with 3 of these gems at a single time.

You can make as many as you like but only have 3 at a time on your person.

As a priest and hunter I will likely be stacking these gems until I get my res up and then stacking stm after that.

41 stm vs 27res. If u r wearing the craftable pvp set which have little rez i would suggest one of these 2 gems for ur first few peices of savage or w.e it is u are picking up.

Remeber to spend 10min in Vault of Free Epics for ur epic arena gear as well.

Patch 3.2 Prismatic/Jeweler's Gems changes:

"In the next major content patch we will be removing the prismatic quality of the jewelcrafter-only Dragon’s Eye gems. Like other gems, they will have to match the socket color to receive a socket bonus. When this change occurs, players with qualifying jewelcrafting skill will be provided a yet to be determined amount of Dalaran Jewelcrafter Tokens as compensation."

This means Jewelcrafters will now have to play by the same rules everyone else does when it comes to meta gem requirements.

To recap:

"Prismatic" quality no longer exists and the "Jeweler's Gems" icons are now adequately mono-colored, a visual indication showing they'll only match one socket type.

The only benefit you'll get is the flat added value to your favorite stat which will only activate socket bonuses of the appropriate color.

Their value is being upgraded in the same patch, but that's the time when unlimited use epic quality gems are also being introduced.
