Maybe it will be nerfed , also the 2% are regenerated over 6 seconds.

The proc is quite different than the Warrior Talent It is not "when you suffer a critical hit" but when you deal one. Making it an interesting Metasocket for Grinding and probably worth something in a raid

For grinding each of your crits will generate 2% health wich is not much but given a 33.3% crit ratio and say 6 hits each 10 seconds you get 2 ticks or 12 ticks per minute

1 tick = 2% of say 10 000 hp = 200 life
or a bare minimum of 1400 life healed per minute wich is not quite a waste

for a hunter it has double the effect of spirit link but on 1 target only and since it is the target that suffers less dmg will most probably be a waste

But for a ROGUE :) that can do a lot more than 6 hits per 10 seconds not to speak for haste effects the heal could be awasome

Several Raid Mele DPS classes suffer constant dmg that is usually ment to give the offtank enought rage to keep up with the main tank in many fights
Making this metagem realy usefull in Raid encounters where you need to lower the preasure of your healers .......

Rogue 12 hits per 10 seconds on a 10k life bar = 2400 heal per minute

Exccelent meta gem for a warrior with axe spec.This+second wind+blood craze, will be a nice heal.
10%+6%+2% on a warrior with 15k hp =2700 hp.

The meta has a proc chance of 50% and it seams not to have a cooldown, so i think it would be great on dual viewer classes that have lots of crit, like hunters or, better, rogues.

Basically your own little version of Improved Leader of the Pack with less heal but, as stated above, no cooldown.

Unfortunately I purchased this recipe after reading the comments and discovered it does infact have a hidden cooldown now. The heal is instant, healing for 2% of your life, however from testing it by AE swipe spamming in Black Morass it seems to have approximately a 90 second cooldown which makes the effect near worthless.

The 42 AP is nice but do not craft the gem (or buy the recipe) expecting to get any significant heals out of it. Sorry to disappoint.

This is typically Blizzard, the gem was certainly to good for certain classes, but instead of giving it a balanced nerf, they nerf it into oblivion, rendering the heal effect useless - to bad.

I just thought of it be could be good for a Tank a OT. look at 2% then it can be a heal for what 2K or 3K heals

Figured this was too good to be true, Bladestorm = Critstorm would have been awesome to heal myself to full by charge/bladestorm ads during bosses. Oh well blizz, another one bits the dust.

This is stupid.

Internal cd should be act as a mechanism to prevent the "rarely overpowered chain proc", not something which is almost like a hard-cap.
50% on crit is like fixed proc within few secs once internal cd is up.

Not to say 45 sec is too long.

Make it something like 1% heal with much lower proc chance but also much lower internal cd and it will make much more sense.

Just curious if anyone knows if this can proc separately from druids' improved leader of the pack, ignoring the 6 sec cooldown? For example: Pack proc's 2% health, gem proc's, pack proc's again after 6 sec from the first...

Or can a druid only get 2% health from a critical strike every 6 seconds period? If you are gaining health from imp leader of the pack, does it reset the gem's cooldown and make it worthless?

Quite funny when you consider the paladins judgment of light very often procs a 2% heal on any ranged/melee hit. Was thinking of using this on my rogue, but of course i read up on it... just to find out about the 45sec icd. Totally unacceptable. A joke i mean, come on 45 sec for 2%? On a 45 sec cooldown it should have been more like 20% or some other silly amount.

Even with the hidden cool down this sounds like a good gem for my hunter's extreme soloing. Since my pet doesn't keep threat as well as a traditional tank it would be nice to have some healing for myself.

I m hunter too and i don't thing this is a good decision.. there are many better meta sockets, like 1% spell reflect in PvP(to confuse casters only! It isn't DMG ->from 10 000 it reflects only 100 DMG!).
When i saw that i was interested in it too, but it is too weak. there are stronger ways to heal
/cast Gift of the Naaru
/use Heavy Frostweave Bandage
/cast LifeBlood
(also you can use healing trinkets /use 13....../use 14)
and potions just check the global cooldowns and build a macro

As of 4.0, this gem has +21 haste rating instead of +42 AP, making it quite attractive for restoration shamans.

~~In ICC gear, the proc will heal for around 700 to 800—giving it around 17 HPS at most, and lower with overhealing considered~~ (Edit: According to feralgoat's comment, it doesn't proc from healing). Another thing to consider is the less desirable meta gem requirement: 1 red 2 blue (instead of 1 red 1 yellow 1 blue or 2 red).

My gut feeling and calculation based on outdated data say this is worth around the same as Revitalizing. Considering shaman_hep won't be updated for level 80, we will probably never know just how good or bad this gem is.

The proc only triggers when getting a crit from an offensive ability. It does not proc from critical heals.
