This may come handy in raid or dungeon tactics explaining, showing which target is to be cc'd, tanked or something.
The mats ain't that expensive, so good raidleader could carry these as often as possible.

Neone with the beta jc'ing needed to test this thing, would be helpful to comment on ne of these items. Really curious to know if it does anything besides lighting up your target.

I just tested this out on beta now that my JC on there is high enough.

It basically casts a beam at your target, similar to warlock's drainsoul / shadowpriests mindflay. The color is dependant on which one you make. It can be cast on a friendly/unfriendly target, theres no restrictions.

What I found them really useful for is finding people. In a crowded city, you're trying to find the person who said they'd buy / sell / trade something with you. Just /tar their name, hit this thing and you'll be pointing right at them.

And out in the wild, if you're trying to find an npc for a quest, or to hand something in, same. Target them and use your focusing lens and presto :)

I originally made this to get from 375 to 390 Jewelcrafting but then i thought of using it on random players walking around ogrimmar and it made me laugh when they tried to work out what was happening and on the ocassions where i hide somewhere, where it was coming from.

I'm really hoping that it wont be long before someone does something similar to the (not as famous as i would like) Chain heal pictures idea. Lazer Shows for Tips

If you had 5 to 10 people, All with one of these and worked out a sequence, you could make some really amazing patterns that would look fanastic.

EDIT: It's starting to catch on :) (At least on my server)

Made a box around the ogrimmar bank roof with 4 people and also a U shape around the area between the bank roof and the AH.

These items are useful.

When you're hunting a specific mob, make a /target macro with the mob's name, then /use for this item or any of its kind.

You'll be literally pointed in the right direction.

This item is actually quite useful, as pointed out before you can use it to find someone in a crowd, but what's even better is that it goes through walls... And works in Bg's... See where I'm going? Standing at the tunnel entrance in WSG you can target the flag carrier and use it to see which direction he's going, or finding the enemy flag carrier when the other team goes for a turtle. Some may find it cheap, but I think /lay next to a corner so the flag is put through the wall is cheap.

TLDR: Can be used to locate flag carriers precisely.

Can you move while channeling this? Or is it like all the other channels, where it gets cancelled when you move?

I figured it be handy in PVP arena, just put it on your target and you'll never lose track of them, like teleporting mages or locks.

I love this thing, i also use it in pvp before i attack to feel like a sniper. Definitely worth the 1g it costs for the mats. I only have one question, any other items besides the Gems that can do this?

Along with other Focusing Lenses, this one makes Onyxia stand before pull. Side effect: some1 usually starting to cry "Who pulled ffs!".

This item is extremely usefull at Blood-Queen Lana'thel when its your turn to bite a raid member.
In this particular fight, personally, I often have a hard time finding the person to bite when I have to keep an eye on Swarming Shadows on ground, Incite Terror timer and Pact of the Darkfallen despite we use an addon to whisper us who to bite.

Whenever I have 5 secs left before I have to bite, I right-click the focusing lens and voila, its now ridicously easy to find your target.
Mats for lenses is very cheap and you get 40 charges. No more will you mindcontrolled.

Someone was handing these out in IF the other night on my realm. We got together by the bridge and made a giant pentagram. Good times.

Clicking the effect, it says 60 yards range. But this may be inaccurate.

I tested this out, using flame strike (30 yards) and blink (20 yards) combined with movement speed experiments.

My results give the lenses a range of 75-80 yards.
My method, the spells' range or the lens' range must be inaccurate :p
