Does anyone know where this is from? I've checked every trainer and every faction vendor, and the token vendor - the design isn't on any of them; and wowhead has no 'taught by' listed for the spell. It's linkable in game so it must be implemented, and I've seen misty dark jade on people's crafting list.

This seems to be one of several WotLK rare quality gems whose designs are not obtainable in the game for some reason. Players who are linking it in the game may be doing so through the use of an addon.

Actually, it was one of the Jewelcrafting patterns that came with the patch that went live today. It is a rare world drop. I got mine while doing my Sons of Hodir dailies off of one of the jormungar in the Viscious Oil cave

Got the design in Heroic Violet Hold a few minutes ago. I'll have to check prices (if any) on the AH for it... Two group members of mine wanted it... If they wanted it so bad, they should have needed. They offered 12g. Glad I checked here first. Good luck to those looking for it!

Dropped from 1 of the raptor trash mobs near King Dredd in Drak'tharon keep. Judging by the other comments it seems to be a world drop so isn't really going to be something you can go and farm.

Curious how much I could sell this for.

i just got the design off a random mob in storm peaks while i was doing my Son's of Hodir dailies.
heh couldnt find a general AH price on here so i guess i got usefull information for wowhead :)

i put it on AH for 795g BO since the guy above me bought it for that price lol someone else will eventually buy mine :)
but im curious as to what makes it so sought after by the healers? there arent better gems? it doesnt look that impressive.

I don't know about all the other ppl, but I'm playing a shadow priest, and for a blue slot, it's the best gem available. crit, and spirit which works with twisted faith, improved spirit tap, and glyph of shadow to give more spell power. also, some mp5

Its realy nice for Resto Druids mainly using Regrowth.
(as myself 20% crit 2150 hb unbuffed dont need more 9SP + int/spirit gems)

For FFB mages that need to get the 2 blue gems for the meta gem socket and really want to get the socket bonus this one works out well for say a yellow slot.
The Crit rating obviously adds, well, crit chance, which for FFB = 10k crits in heroic blues =S
The spirit is now semi-useful with the changes to molten armor back in 3.1.
Course if u don't care about the socket bonuses there are better gems for the 2 blue criteria
