A scribe makes it and sells it to an enchanter. The enchanter enchants it and puts it up on the auction house, where Joe Schmo buys it and then uses it to enchant his new weapon. This should make it a lot easier to make money as an enchanter.

Here's our confirmation that enchants can now be sold on the AH. Inscription/Enchanters will make a killing early on before prices settle.

Enchanting your alts gear. No more looking for an enchanter for ages only to be charged a small fortune, while feeling stupid cause your main knows how to do it but is unable to cause its on the same account

Some comments while testing on the PTR:

While it's not explicitly stated I couldn't cast any TBC enchants on it, so there's probably a level 60 requirement on the vellums.
After casting an enchant on it, the vellum turns into a non-unique scroll that takes up one inventory slot (not stackable).
The vellums have no sell price, so it can't be accidentally vendored.

if you enchant mongoose on a merciless wep than you get the brutal.... now you dont have to save up for another JUST REPLACE THE ONE YOU HAVE! :D right?

is it possible to use a vellum on a weapon with a enchantment on it and store it?

I have a question, really a critical one : so this can be used to preserve (store) the enchant that currently my weapon has so I can use it for later?

example : my nightblade has mongoose enchanted, if I use this on my nightblade, then the mongoose will be removed from my nightblade but stored on this vellum?

Okay just a heads up on a possible, bug or just something some may not think of when using Vellums.

I have enchanted many using my enchanter, but I wanted to give my alt an enchant I did not have. So I gathered the mats gave them to an enchanter and then threw the vellum into the not to be traded window. I was not even thinking.

Normally when I enchant my own vellums it makes a scroll and eats the vellum.

Well the enchanter put the enchant on the vellum traded it back to me and I had a vellum that showed the enchant on it. The problem was the character I was on was not an enchanter. So I sent the vellum to my enchanter and when I took it from my mailbox it was simply a blank vellum again. All my mats gone.

Hopefully the enchanter I used has a scroll in his inventory, but I have not been able to confirm this yet.

I also think that if I would have traded the vellum straight up to the enchanter it would have worked as normal eating the vellum and giving him a scroll.

All I can say is I pray he has a scroll in his inventory and I did not loose my mats.

Just something to think about when using vellums.

If you let an enchanter enchant the vellum through the 'not trade' you will not get a scroll of that enchant instead you will get the enchant on the weapon/armor vellum(I believe this is a bug). This will make it useless, so trade the vellum to the enchanter as well.
