These are just laying on the ground, no cast time on loot. Like looting a body.

You'll get an error message saying 'you are mounted' if you try looting from horseback, so you have to dismount to loot. Not that there's anything unusal in that. What I found unusual was that I had to click them twice to loot them.

You can just normal loot click the object. No need to shift click (auto loot not necessary)

the first one i saw happened to be at the feet of a ghoul i had just fought, so i thought they were connected -- don't make the same mistake! these are "ground spawn" lootable NPCs scattered around the reliquary of agony area.

Paladins can track them.They have sense undead.(This creatures are undeads).

When I did this quest just now, the "Gooey Ghoul Drool" (yuck!) appeared concentrated toward the south-western side of the "Zeramas" icon on the in-game map of the area. As a Hunter I was able to track these (select "Track Undead" from the drop-down menu at the left of your mini-map), greatly speeding completion of this quest.

EDIT: Although this may simply have been a temporary quirk occurring at my end, I thought this might be worth including just in case. I also noticed that these seemed hard to loot - the normal right-click "auto-loot" did not seem to immediately work. I simply kept hitting the right mouse button until the loot "dropped" (a matter of only a few seconds).
