While this can be used by someone who isn't a leatherworker, note that it binds the item to the person who applies the leg armor. This means it cannot be used by twinks.

The more costly version of this is the Icescale Leg Armor. Both can be used by non-leatherworkers.

From a business standpoint, this item is a liability. I have been trying to sell these for a reasonable profit for over two months now, to no avail. What happens with these, is that the market gets flooded with far too many pieces sold at a very low price, neighbourhood of 30-40g. It is as if there are people who have access to unlimited heavy leather and unlimited nerubian chitin, thereby flooding the market practically day after day. Sometimes, the market flooding forces these to sell for as low as 28 gold apiece. Trying to buy low and sell high wont work, being as there are consistent market flooders (bulk sellers) who sell at the same extremely low prices...Now, since heavy borean leather goes for 80 gold per 20 pieces or higher, it has gotten to the point where its not even worth to burn off your heavy borean leather to make these. You can make Jormungar Leg Armor and sell it for over 130 g apiece. I have got LW toons on three different European servers (Darksorrow, Genjuros and Nordrassil) and its always the same story with this item, no matter where you go.

Too many skinning/lw bots at work I guess.

The reason why Jormungar Leg Armor is four or five times more profitable, is -I think- that it requires 12 Jormungar scales to make versus just one nerubian chitin for Nerubian Leg Armor, thus making farm-botting for Jormungar Leg Arnor non-practicable.

Warning: if you twink, don't upgrade your shoulder or leg heirlooms more than once or you will not be able to apply this enchant anymore with your level 100 toons.

Why? An heirloom that is upgraded 2/2 is ilvl 605 when you are level 100, meaning that your main cannot apply this enchant (cannot be applied to Tim's higher than ilvl 600) to the 2/2 heirloom and mail it to your Twink. If it is only upgraded once, (I.e. So the heirloom is 1/2 ..works till level 90) then you can still apply it.

If you were not aware of this and upgraded your legs and shoulders like I did, then you can still apply the enchant if you have another toon that is greater than level 85 but less than 99. But otherwise you are screwed, and according to a GM ticket response, it is not possible to un-upgrade an heirloom.
