These can drop from Cobalt nodes, but its most likely very rare. Similar to the old blue gems being mined from Fel Iron nodes.

But on wowhead it reads that you can't mine Sky Sapphire from a Rich Saronite Node......

Whenever you prospect your stacks lookin for blues, these are the least desired gem of all. Just above greens. Anything cut from this gems sells very low, especially when compared to other blue gems. Scarlet ruby being the most profitable.

Everytime you prospect, hope the blue gem is not one of these.

~~that probably won't be true for long as in 3.2 they can be transmuted to an epic blue gem so stock up on them while you can~~

Since the 3.2 patch all WotLK rare gems can no longer be bought for Emblem of Heroism. Intended or not - they are removed from all known vendors and replaced by epic ones.

This gem is essentially worthless for hunters. None of the cuts are really good for them. The only thing I could see being used by hunters is stamina, and even then... ehh.
