What you are thinking of is a Dodecahedron, which has 12 sides/faces.

A decahedron is a polyhedron with 10 faces. And Decahedral is the adjective form of the word, so in short. It's a 10 sided dice.

I pickpocked one of these on live. When used, I emoted:

Xanne rubs her between her hands and rolls.

They don't make you do a /roll, even when you're in a party. I can't find a use for them apart from RPing.

Unless there's a bug, these and the Worn Troll Dice no longer do a visible /roll, but instead simply display an emote such as "<Name> rubs his between his hands and rolls".

To restore the /roll functionality, you can simply make a macro such as:

Now not only can you use it to make your /rolls, but it's preceded by the emote, which makes you just that much cooler when you win the item.

In a lot of roleplaying games, two 10-sided dice are used to establish a percent, with one die representing the 10's place and the other the 1's place. It's possible these dice will actually be usable in random rolls by making them percentage. If they fix them next patch.

The obvious thing here is, if i'm rolling a 10 the sum-up is 'incorrect'. F.e. 1010 if i rolled two 10's. How can i fix this by making a 0 out of every 10? 00 would be acceptable for a 100.

haven't seen anyone talk about where they drop and as this is only available to pickpocketing. I found it easy to get them off the onslaught mobs in new hearthglen in dragonblight. took me about an hour of farming, true numbers may vary. thought this would help since i was looking at the drop chance of the mobs from pick pocket and only shows numbers in the hundreds. and one or two out of the hundreds. rightfully so, i may have pick pocketed at least 160 mobs to get mine. Hope this post helps people trying to farm these dice.

For anyone looking to farm this, I recommend the onslaught mobs in Dragonblight. For the most part you can disregard the pickpocket rate information for these dice. I initially was only pickpocking the Onslaught Raven Archon's until I decided to head down to the New Hearthglen and try my luck there. After many pickpockets I finally got the item off an elite inside a building. Good luck to anyone wanting these.

By the way the dice do a /random 100 not two 1-10 rolls.

the name and tooltip describe a pair of 10 sided dice, so using it should produce two /roll 10s but instead it does one /roll 100. blizzards mistake, or just crafted by a really drunk dwarf? :P

I looted this item from a Ninfa del Gelo today. The list of people it's pick pocketed from doesn't include them, and the NPC doesn't have a pick pocket list, as well. Why is that?

I finally got one after Picking all of the Onslaught's in Lower Dragonblight.

I used a few quick Macros:

/cast Pick Lock
/use Reinforced Junkbox

This will pick lock the first Junkbox in your bag, then hold Ctrl and click to open it.

Rolling the Dice: A Pick pocketing Guide to Dice

What’s needed:
A Rogue (74 and up for Dadi Troll Consumati and Dadi Nanici Decaedrici) (83 and up for Dadi Gnomeschi Truccati)
A will to not punch yourself in the face from a long grind.

Location: Skorn
Task: Stealth and Pick Pocket every mob in Skorn.
Skorn is probably the best place to gather your troll dice from. The mobs are plentiful and if you time it right you can make a loop (including landing on top of the towers with the mages and picking their pockets, keep in mind to do this you must have Cold Weather Flying, and fly high enough above they won’t see you, but not too high that you can’t land safely) and get back to your “start point” and have the mobs pockets refilled.
I personally start at the northernmost point, by the river, with the two lumberjack guys, and then work my way to the big building, and back around, find a path that works for you.

Location: New Hearthglen
Task: Stealth and Pick Pocket every mob in New Hearthglen
New Hearthglen is literally overflowing with mobs. Each one can be pick pocketed, even the ones riding on the horse. If you make a complete cycle through New Hearthglen, starting at the large front gates, you can circle around to the beach, and then travel up the side ramp, and be back around by the building with the archery targets, and cycle through. There is no-downtime here.
This place is fantastic for finding the dice, I personally have picked 3 of them from this particular spot. There is only one mob in the whole place that doesn’t drop the dice, and that’s the bishop in the small church by the stables.

Location: Maker's Ascent
Task: Pick Pocket every mob on Maker's Ascent and Kill them after.
How this works is to start at the bottom of the stairs, pick the two guys standing there (it is not neccesary to kill these two) then pick the groups of ten in a grid pattern so you don't miss one and you remember where you are in the pickpocketing. It makes it easier if you sap the elite infantrymen, as it stops them all in place and you can roll around easily. After you've finished a group kill them - there are two reasons for this - the first is they respawn faster then their pockets refill. The second is if you're not alone pickpocketing there, it'll signal to your fellow rogues that the group has been pickpocketed.
Work your way up the ramp, and once you make it to Ruins of Khintaset, you mount up, and fly back down to the bottom and you should have to wait only thirty or so seconds for respawns. Yes - they drop dice. On a side note, I've gotten world drop epics, patterns, and rares from the mobs after they've been killed, and it'll make a little extra gold for you.

Notes:
The drop rate is low. I spoke to a GM, and though they can’t tell you anything that you don’t already know, he gave me this advice, “Pickpocket a lot, every time you can.”
If the mob has Romanzo Rosa: L'Amore Proibito, then they drop Dadi Nanici Decaedrici. If they have Borsa di Tabacco Vuota then they drop Dadi Troll Consumati. At least this is what I’m seeing.
Typically Dadi Troll Consumati drop from Trolls and Vyrkul.
Typically Dadi Nanici Decaedrici drops from Humans and Dwarves.
Typically Dadi Gnomeschi Truccati drops from any Cataclysm Humanoids who can be pickpocketed.
Keep in mind, there are always exceptions to any rules, but these are personally what I’ve observed.

I just got a 3rd type of dice ingame, a Dadi Gnomeschi Truccati. It always rolls 7 (one 4 and one 3). I pickpocketed it from a mob in the Well of Eternity and seeming from the small amount of posts on this items page I'm guessing it's a very rare item. I wonder if there are any more Cataclysm dices out there? Gotta catch'em all! : )

Fallen Hero's Spirit needs to be removed from this as a drop, b/c you cannot pickpocket them. I am not sure if you used to be able to, but you can't now.

I don't know why WoWhead only has 3 enemies listed as ones this item can be pickpocketted from, but fear not; all of the enemies in New Hearthsglen still drop this item. I just had an enemy not listed here drop it for me. =)

I got this item after about 6 or more hours grinding. I was beginning to lose hope that it would ever drop.

i spent 3 days in New Hearthglen grinding this item and nothing, Spent 2 hrs in icecrown and got 2 from the Cult of the Damned mobs. Now Loaded Gnomish Dice last one to get, anyone know if ali can get the gnomish dice?

Farmed these dice at New Hearthglen and i got them after 2 hours. I picked pocket every "Onslaught ..." mob.

Got all 3 of them. Some remarks:
Loaded Gnomish Dice dropped after 117 A Steamy Romance Novel: Big Brass Bombs
Worn Troll Dice dropped after 64 Empty Tobacco Pouch
Decahedral Dwarven Dice dropped after 233 A Steamy Romance Novel: Forbidden Love

Its a big competition for these items now with the addition of Toy Box. Keep your sanity, listen to some music and be nice to other players. There is no point trying to force an area with more than 2 rogues. Try again later or find a new spot. Goes a lot quicker.

I found another great place to farm for this item since New Hearthglen was overrun with other rogues. Onslaught Harbor, the island along the west coast of Icecrown. It is swarming with humanoids and I was all alone there when I farmed. Got mine after about an hour or so. Got mine from a mob on the steps of the cathedral.

I used New Hearthglen, moved from cathedral (8 mobs outside, 7 inside) -> stable (6 mobs) -> docks/ship (5 on docks/8+ on ship). If you kill after pickpocketing, you'll have about a 90sec to waste till respawn.

I also farmed this at New Hearthglen. Took me about 1 day and a half of pick pocketing. I started at the beach and worked my way up into the town and back around. Can be annoying if theres more people pickpocketing in the area though :(

If you're on a high population server and New Hearthglen is completely overrun with rogues, head over to Onslaught Harbor in western Icecrown. There are enough mobs to easily do a full loop and start over without having to kill anything.

started pickpocketing in new hearthglen this afternoon around 3pm eastern while I was watching Blizzcon stream. 3 hours later by 6pm, I decided to give up and try Onslaught Harbor. No dice so far. :(

I'd suggest Onslaught Harbor for this. I tried New Hearthglen for about 30 mins with no luck and went to Onslaught Harbor and found it pretty quick. I thought Onslaught Harbor was just easier for pockpicketing, mobs are less spread out.

To all the rogues pickpocketing for this "new" toy, it seems that the mobs over at New Hearthglen (Southern Dragonblight) CAN drop Dadi Nanici Decaedrici, even tho they are not listed under the "pickpocketed from"-tab. I'm not sure about the NPCs with special names, but from the info I've managed to gather others should be able to drop it. I just got one myself finally, from an Onslaught Raven Priest.

Just pickpocketed from a Burning Depths Necrolyte in Maw of Neltharion at level 73 and no glyphs. I didn't even know you could get it, so it was pure luck, but it is possible.

So I basically got this dice after ~13 pickpockets (New Hearthglen), and the Worn Troll dice after ~50 (Skorn). Either blizzard made the drop rate higher, or i was just lucky. Good luck farming it, they are Bind on Use, so you can sell them on AH too.

BE CAREFUL USING THESE DICE IN A RAID. It seems that the roll can only be seen from a certain distance. I can only guess it has the same distance as the emote that's produced with it.

Just got the dice off of a mob in New Hearthglen. This is after farming for HOURS in both New Hearthglen and Onslaught Harbor. There is NO buff to the drop rate ... just crappy RNG. But good luck! :D

Dear Mr. Muratore della Furia Scarlatta, was kind enough to carry the Dadi Nanici Decaedrici for me.

At first he pretended to have lost it and claimed he 'only' had 47 x Cofanetto Rinforzato and 45 x Romanzo Rosa: L'Amore Proibito in his pockets, but...

Clearly, the 50 x Tabacco Grezzo he carried around wasn't just dust from the junkboxes. I found some other cool stuff underneath the 'magic' powder; here's a short list.

Onslaught Harbor worked great for me. The cathedral steps at 10, 45 has a lot. Get a good loop going, pick the pocket, kill, repeat.

I went into the Hall of Lightning, thinking I'd work on the Dwarven dice, and got the troll dice--only did the area for the first boss--and I didn't have to engage him. The troll dice dropped from a Dwarf. Didn't even take half an hour. I got very lucky!

I just spent 4+ hours pick-pocketing for these and all I got was beeing annoyed about the removal of the minor glyohs for pick-pocketing and lock-picking.

Someone please confirm that these still drop with 7.0.3.
Currently on AH for 48k.

Hey Guys,

This is just a quick guide on farming Dadi Nanici Decaedrici in northwest icecrown.
there area that i will be pickpocketing is called Onslaught Harbor, all the mobs located on that island can drop the dice

I farm all 3 dices and have around 3 of each in my bags or AH at any time on my realm.
this farm is the easiest as it is quite close to the location i farm for Dadi Troll Consumati dice

The best way i found to do this farm is to leave your rogue in Icecrown and log on to pickpocket the route once or twice.

Before starting any farm ensure that you have Loot appraiser and TSM addons installed as they will make your life easier to determine if a drop is rare or not instantly.

Keep in mind that this farm only provides Looted item value and the items you find may sell instantly or may take days, weeks or even months to sell.

So this says it's only pick pocketed from four mobs, but I just pick pocketed it from a Beryl Treasure Hunter walking around Coldrock Quarry in Borean Tundra. I wasn't farming it, I never knew it even existed, but it dropped so hopefully they can update the list and others who are looking for it find it!

Been farming these for the last 7 months at least 2 times week. Since 8.0 the rate of actually getting one of these from a pickpocket seems to have doubled. Its only been 3 farms for me since 8.0 so it could just be bad luck. But in 7 months I have never had it take so long to get one set of dice. I usually farm 2 sets in the same amount time. Anyone notice a diff or am i just getting some horrible luck all of the sudden? lol

Decahedral adj.: Having ten plane surfaces.

So... in other words, a pair of ten sided die. So why is it that when I use this, it rolls between 1 and 100? Shouldn't it roll between 2 and 20? Or is it this: say I roll a 53; one die represents the first number (e.g.: rolls a 5) and the other die represents the second number (e.g.: rolls a 3)? If that's the case, I assume a roll of a 10 and a 10 would mean a roll of 100 and a roll of a 10 and a 1 would mean a roll of 1 (correct?).

I haven't seen it anywhere here so I'm just gonna assume it's rare but when I was leveling my first toon in Northrend I pickpocketed these off some mob in the Coldarra in Borean Tundra. I know I didn't know these existed until right then but unfortunately don't remember what kinda mob it was. But yeah these can really just be pickpocketed anywhere if you're lucky enough.

I quested my way across Northrend looking for these dice. I finally found it on a Cult Researcher in Icecrown as I was working on the Loremaster achievement for that zone. I had already completed all other zones in Northrend outside of The Storm Peaks.

On a side note, I found maybe seven or eight copies of the Troll Dice.

Still valid in 2022 -Ice Crown, flight path Death's Rise, Head west over the water to Onslaught Harbor, Guards, Bishops, Paladins, etc. tons of pockets to pick. I got a dice off the guards on the steps of the Cathedral with-in a couple of minutes of arriviing. Continued through the whole harbour and did not get another, but will come back when I have time.

Since 9.2.5 IN 11.6.2022 in 17:47.
I managed to get the Dice at about 1500-2000 total Looted and than killed kills..
Combined with all onslaught troops.
This dropped at little bit over of 1006 harbor guards looted and than killed at Northrend/Icecrown/Onslaught Harbor/The crimson Cathedral.

If anybody else in the future tries to get this either farming reasons or toy collecting purposes. Go to Onslaught harbor.
This will either be a short hunt or an long one.
since its 3 out of 1000 chance.

As of patch 10, Dragonflight prepatch, received after approx. 600-700 attempts at Onslaught Harbor. Rarity ONLY tracked pickpocketing Onslaught Harbor Guards, but I ended up getting it off an Onslaught Paladin at the door to the cathedral on the hill. My 600-700 estimate is based on how many bishops and paladins I pickpocketed in addition to the Harbor Guards. Was thinking about trying another spot, when lo and behold it dropped. Took maybe 3 hours, so not a bad investment to save 35k on the AH and another toy in the box.

Spent >3 hours farming these. At least 1,000 pickpocket attempts (estimated since Rarity only tracks foot soldiers and not priests or knights). First half in onslaught harbor, second half in new hearthglen. 462 cloth, over 30 green and gray transmog I didn't have yet, no dice (literally). I also noticed Rarity often didn't count attempts where I used my /pickpocket + ambush macro (although I got the pickpocket loot) . So it's probably closer to 1,200-1,300 attempts.
