This is currently the only BoP blue gem that JCs can make. It may be an oversight that will be corrected when 2.4 goes live, as the gem doesn't seem to be "universal" enough (not too many Mages are interested in +Dodge) to warrent being the only BoP blue gem available. Consider that BoP epic gems cover almost everyone's needs.

For the moment at least, it would seem another reason for tanks to learn JC. :-)

Although this isn't an excellent gem for tanks to stack, it is a better option for when a Warrior picks up a socket bonus (say a socket bonus of 6 stamina with a red and a blue socket); He'll be able to gain 4 dodge rating instead of 4 agility.

This is the new best red gem for tanks looking to meet socket bonus requirements.

WOW, this fills a huge void in RED tanking gems.

Up until now you could either ignore the red bonus or farm heroic Mech for Defenders tanzanite or heroic Shadow labs for Regal tanzanite for parry and dodge respectively.

Superb gem.

If the Dodge formulas on wowwiki are correct, then no feral Druid should ever use this gem for tanking. Stick with Shifting Nightseye. Agility also increases crit which helps in generating rage/aggro.

For Warriors or Paladins it could be beneficial as they don't gain as much dodge per point of agility as Druids.

Druids:

4 Agility = 0.27% dodge
4 Dodge Rating = 0.21% dodge

Warriors:

4 Agility = 0.13% dodge
4 Dodge Rating = 0.21% dodge

Paladins:

4 Agility = 0.16% dodge
4 Dodge Rating = 0.21% dodge

I've used +12/+15/+18 Stamina Gems only before 2.4 for my warrior tank. Gonna change this now, finally some more socket bonuses are in reach.

If I'm reading this correctly, this is one of the few (the only?) gem cut that does not have an epic equivalent. I wonder why Blizzard decided to single this gem out?
