Since the items to cut this powerful caster gem drop in Black Temple (where about 0.8% of all US raiding guilds are at), expect to see a high markup for these. The buyout listed here is 670g, which is about what I would charge.

The Crimson Spinel is the best "droppable" spelldmg gem in TBC, the Spinel and other various gems drop from Black Temple trash (quite often to be honest, drops about 10-12 each BT run for my guild), also you can mine them after killing 2 bosses in Mount Hyjal on the way to the next camp.

Now that as of 2.4 Black Temple no longer requires attunement and the Jewelcrafter pattern is more easily accessible via friendly rep with the Shattered Sun Offensive expect to see the auction house prices on this gem to likely drop significantly over the next few months.

well.... i think that the price is still high . . . ppl are speculating this . . . 3 full kara = 4 epic gems = 1,5-1,6k gold ( for jewelcrafters atleast.. )

we just hope the price will drop in the future, as more and more ppl have the epic gems on their gear, and demand goes down
