This is a permanent version of the Ethereum Stasis Chamber Key (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29750).

Got it from the Image of Commander Ameer in Bash'ir Landing, Blade's Edge Mountains, after doing all quests he had and getting an exalted reputation with The Consortium.

It's required to summon the new boss in heroic Mana-Tombs, Yor, which is located in the last room of the instance.
Yor is the probably easiest foe in the entire instance. He has a lot of HP, but hits for only ~1000. He has got a Dual Breath ability, hitting all people in front of him for 1200 fire damage per sec over 3 secs.

Would love to know if you have to do a separate turn in for.. (To receive the The Eye of Haramad)

Or can I just complete all quests normally once and come back to him, after I hit exalted and receive the permanent key from him..

Trying to plan ahead since those keys you farm earlier are a pain to amass, and the even rarer item you need for later "Mark of the Nexus-King" seems troublesome at best to get..

Would hate to have to try to get enough for 2,3 or 4 turn ins down the road.

This key is great, for several reasons.

1: It makes LFG'n heroic mana tombs damn easy
2: It gets you an extra badge of justice at the cost of almost no extra effort at all, and I'd guess it turns mana tombs into one of the most time efficient badge runs of them all.
3: Yor will almost always (only seen a ring once, in 9 kills) drop a lvl 70 blue BoE chest item, and they sell for 35-90g (this is on Kazzak-EU).

On the other hand, the amount of time you need to invest into just getting this key is really not to be trifled with. I did some aoe farming at the heap in netherstorm really only because it was fun and I wanted to get exalted with the consortium just for the heck of it (tabard n' gems = pwn), so for me this key is nothing more than a nice bonus. If you have no other reason to get the reputation and farm all the prison keys necessary to get this key other than the key itself, then you should really ask yourself if it's worth the trouble.

I couldnt have the key when i hit exalted. You need to complete the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29750 chain q. And also it can be bugged because of the addons and sometimes you cant take the next step of the quest.

Disable your all addons and try to take the next step of the chain again. It'll work!

As of 2.4.2, this is the ONLY rare-quality key in the game. Not including the Scepter of Celebras.

Repeat: Once you are exalted, you do not need five more ethereum keys (assuming you have done the pre quests) to get this key.

That is one of the key which will be send to you by mail when you log in after release of Patch 4.2 for first time. Due to the removal of personal Keyring you need an inventory slot if you want to keep this key for whatever reason.

I can confirm that you get to keep this key after 4.2 - now the question is; is the key still needed for the extra boss inside Mana Tombs ?

This key can be re-obtained at any time from a locksmith in a capital city. If you've earned it but don't want to keep it in your inventory all the time, you can delete it and just pick it up from a locksmith before you want to smash Yor in the face.

If you lose this key, do not worry. Immagine del Comandante Ameer will give you another one free. This is true as of 5.1.

Here is my experience summarized on how to get this item. I just did it on one of my characters to prepare for Timewalking in patch 6.2.

Before you start you might consider purchasing the required materials that will be required further into the quests. It can help reduce farm and speed up completion. At some point you'd need to turn in 10xChiave della Prigione degli Etereum, but in addition you'd need one extra to continue the quest chain. So if I were you, buy at least 10 of these from the Auction House. Though this is not required, just saves you perhaps an hour of farm in total (if unlucky like me.)

Anyway start by doing these quests in the following order:
1. Alla ricerca di Ameer (requires Honored)
2. Missione caritatevole
3. I segreti degli Etereum (repeatable, do once)
4. Un migliaio di mondi (requires Revered)
5. La camera di stasi di Bash'ir
6. Epurare le Camere di Bash'ir (repeatable, do once)
7. Il Marchio del Re del Nexus
8. Le Camere di Stasi delle Tombe del Mana
9. La camera personale di Shaffar Principe del Nexus (repeatable, do once)
10. L'Occhio di Haramad (requires Exalted)

One tip to greatly increase the speed of the farm is to actually enter Heroic Tombe del Mana because you can farm the last boss indefinitely. He will first spawn Faro Etereo and these mobs will spawn Apprendista Etereo and these give 10 rep in Normal, and 21 rep in Heroic. If you have 4 hours to kill spamming one macro, basically create this:

/tar player
/use Battle Standard of Coordination
I've included the Stendardo da Battaglia della Coordinazione to speed up the process. Also helps you not forget to spawn it once it is off cooldown and the old one despawns.

Once Exalted you can go to Immagine del Comandante Ameer and complete the final quest L'Occhio di Haramad (only requires Exalted, nothing else) for Occhio di Haramad and you can spawn Yor each time you visit the instance - no need to farm keys for one time use consumables.

- Yes, and his loot will scale to suit your natural level like other boss loot.

If you lose Occhio di Haramad (because it's been a pretty useless item for a few expansions now), you can return to Ameer and tell him so. He will give you a replacement.

This item is still useful in Timewalking. Items dropped from the boss does get the TW acknowledgement.

Has this key or quest be changed in any significant way at all over the years because I swear I did this when it was current content and got the key but I just did Timewalking and remembered the stasis chamber at the end containing Yor and apparently I couldn't unlock it.

So I was wondering has this key or quest been changed any amount at all since it's initial release if anyone knows ?

For owners of Occhio di Haramad: You need to have this key in your bags to let Yor out. It wont work if you have the key stored safe and sound in the bank.
