My guess would be that this comes from Area 52, but where does it take you!

Just shoots you into the air and give you a slowfall buff. Warning, if you launch near an enemy in Area 52, you aggro the guards as it does a small AOE attack.

The X-52 Rocket Helmet's AOE effect will no longer aggro mobs.

30 minute cooldown.

Activating this helmet causes a blast-wave type effect called "To Infinity and Above" that does 100 dmg to nearby mobs/players, and shoots you up in the air. You float down slowly so you won't damage yourself.

Great novelty item, but don't use it in a town! The blast can aggro the guards and they will net you and kill you.

This helm is a great item to have to play with. When ganked or being chased by that pesky undead rouge or that orc warrior ... Nova them or sheep them and start running. When your combat flag is lifted pop on the hat and take to the skies. he will look at you and wait but while your coming down pop invisi and when you land beline to the nearest cover. great Novelty item .. never leave my bag. it will be there right next to my hydrocane.

It should be noted that you shoot straight up. Even if you are running or falling at an angle, you have no control at which angle you fly up and fall at.

Gives you a buff called 'Parachute' which will slow your fall for about 12 seconds from my experience. However, it will also give you another buff called 'To Infinity and Beyond' that will take away 50% of your health over 3 ticks. I don't know about you guys, but getting half-killed by a Toy Story reference killed me on the inside.

This helm can be replaced, if deleted to save on bag/bank space. Simply visit the quest giver for another - he will mention they don't grow on trees!

For Engineers with their roflcopter mounts, entertain your friends by having this helmet equipped and hitting this macro occasionally. Take note that the Parachute effect only works to the height you blasted off from, so if you're too high up you might still kill yourself.

Can you use this while running to get shoved forward and up and float down a distance away? Would be insane to run with the flag in WSG off the roof over MT and blast yourself 1/2 across the field :D

Also, anyone know if you can dmg horde in pvp with this item? Speed boot into the FR and BOOM! all of em 1/2 hp. Would be sexy imo XD.

Im starting to Wonder if it can kill your own faction - fly next to someone whos dieing in a battle , a little of hp left, BOOM, you use the helmet and he dies.

According to my friend this item does not preserve your forward momentum when used.

Which means, much to my dissapointment, using Gnomish rocket boots followed by this will Not result in a super forward jump. *cries*

There was a PVP video of a Shaman that used this sometime around the beginning of the film to finish killing an alliance player who was previously on his flying mount.

Anybody have it? It was amazing.

I can also conferm it works in Dalaran, infact I would very strongly recomending keeping it with you. I have had problems with glitching in the Well in North Eastern Dalaran. not geting into portal, and having to wait to be Lock summoned out, or Hearth stone. I tested this..maby 5 min. ago, blacted me out, and then fall back in, and portal worked.

I just used this for the first time since the latest patch, was next to the Dalaran fountain, I DIDN't get the slow fall buff in another words I used the helm, and then fell down to my doom... Gonna try again after the cooldown is up if it does it again I'm gonna update this post
Okay tested it again (took a little longer to edit hehe) and this time it did give me the slowfall buff so I guess it was just a one time occurrence that the last time I didn't get it

i tried using it in all zones in Northrend (including dalaran) and i get the message "You can't use that item here." so as of 3.1.2 it no longer works in the frozen north

As of the test I just performed, the parachute now lasts as long as it takes for you to land, so have no more fear of using this while flying!

It also appears to be back to doing only half your life in damage to you when you use it, though I suppose it could still occasionally crit and kill you if the RNG hates you. I'd keep a potion handy just in case.

Speaking of the Goblin Rocket Launch, you can use that to take NO damage from any fall no matter how high it is. You wait until you are about to hit the ground (Sometimes hard to time it right) and use it. I do it all the time.

I was hoping that this could be used in the Crumbling Depths in Deepholm, as it would be a convenient way to get up to Jadefang when she spawns. Unfortunately it cannot be used indoors so that isn't an option. :( Was worth the try though!

Useable in 5.3 ( In outland at least, not checked anywhere else) and parachute lasts forever whilst falling! Horray for jumping! Also can attack whilst falling, so you can make the most of the time. It works best when you arn't flying between netherstorm islands...

This item still works in Deanor, what makes it realy powerfull:
First use X-52 Rocket Helmet then when you start to fall down again use Bottled Tornado and now at the highest Point use Piuma di Aviana and fly from your Garrison to the Raid entrance of Altomaglio in Nagrand!

This item is INCREDIBLY useful when exploring Draenor.

You want to climb that hill for that mine but don't want to get around ALL the way?
You want to know what's up over those rocks that seem not climb-able?
You want to travel even more with your goblin glider?

You just need X-52 Rocket Helmet and a way to move with...
items such as: (anyone know why below links don't show the items/spells properly?)
Goblin Glider (Engineering Tinker)
Goblin Glider Kit (Engineering-Wod)(Does not require engineering+sold in garrison)
Parachute Cloak (Engineering)

or skills such as:
Cloak and Dagger (Rogue-Talent)
Shadowstep (Rogue-Talent)
Blink (Mage)
Heroic Leap (Warrior)
Rocket Jump (Goblin)
Demonic Leap (Warlock-Demonology)
Disengage (Hunter)
Displacer Beast (Druid-Talent)
Wild Charge (Druid-Talent)

I don't know if every single one works so please let me know what to add or cross from the list.
(You can also have fun with Bottled Tornado and Aviana's Feather!)

After patch 6.0.1 it no longer works in Draenor to my experience :(
Could you please confirm?

It's a shame Blizzard removed this fun way to explore the world, granted that flight is not yet alowed in Draenor.
Before the patch I had the freedom to almost fly with:
X-52 Rocket Helmet + Aliante dei Goblin
Piuma di Aviana
...and the eventual Acceleratori Nitrogeni failure :) + Aliante dei Goblin

I've tried using this item a few times recently, always with the same effect... I suffer the (intended) fire damage while blasting off, then when my rocket burns out, I fall to the ground, without ever having the parachute activate. Fall damage finishes me off and I die.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I suppose this could still be useful even if it's current state if you popped a glider manually or something, but I miss having this work, it's always been worth a bag space in my eyes, being both useful and a lot of fun.

Mini-Guide for Scafandro X-52 (Legion toy), previously X-52 Rocket Helmet (head armor).

Rewarded from Si torna dall'Aviatore!, the final quest in a 7-part quest chain, all taking place in Netherstorm, Outland.

If you have destroyed your helmet:
As of 6.2.3, Aviatore Granturbina has the dialog option: "Chief, I've somehow misplaced my X-52 Rocket Helmet!" to which he replies "Well, alright then, there you go, First Officer <charactername>. Just try to be more careful with your helmet in the future. Those things don't grow on trees, you know!" and gives you a new helmet.

If you cannot get the initial quest Aiuta Mami Fortebotto from Papi Fortebotto, you need to complete these pre-quests:
Raccolta di cristalli del Consorzio from Khay'ji l'Inseguitore Fatuo which, once complete, will let you pick up Ricerche tecnologiche from Papi Fortebotto.

And now you can...

Aiuta Mami Fortebotto - Fly to Eco-Dome Midrealm and talk to Mami Fortebotto at 46.63 56.53. (map)
She will offer Quello che un demone butta via....

- Soon after using the provided Controllo del Razziascorie X6000, Negatron (69 elite) will start running at you from the location marked on your minimap (near the bridge around 40.48 62.61). He stops just outside Doctor Vomisha's camp at 37.72 63.46. Watch for him to come running.

RazerWolf came up with a great macro here (will need to be tested once this item is a toy instead of a helm), that simulates a problem with your mount (/panic /emote slams the ejector button!) and ejects you (/dismount /use X-52 Rocket Helmet). He/She also notes that "the Parachute effect only works to the height you blasted off from, so if you're too high up you might still kill yourself."
