Getting the runes themselves is not hard, you get at least 1 arcane manuscript thing in each of the Tempest keep instances, and they give 350 rep when returning them to the Blood Elf in Shattrath. He gives you the arcane rune as a reward, making the only hard thing about these getting exalted with the scryers in the first place.

These runes become irrelevant once you've hit honored status (and even more once you've reached exalted) with the Sons of Hodir in Northrend as you can pick up these shoulder enchants.

irrelevant yes but u cannot use the northrend ones at lvl 70, and more and more tbc guilds are popping up, dont see why anyone did wotlk worse part of game imo

An aside to those grinding Aldor/Scryer rep expansions later (like me, a pattern addict in every profession):

The Arcane Runes and their Aldor equivalents cannot be sold to a vendor. The inscriptions also do not vendor.
No gold there, so just delete them once you are done turning them in.

Must be Honored for 4 of the items. (Cost 2 runes each)
Exalted for the other 4 items he offers. (Cost 8 runes each)

The enchantments only work up to iLevel 600.
The enchantments and runes have no sell price.

All in all with expansions and level cap being well above this range...it's best to just delete them.

They are useful for Rep, but little else at this stage. If you need the Rep for whatever reason, turn 'em in. Otherwise, the Tomes before turning them in. But, if you want to do the questlines and experience everything, you could get the rewards.

If you have an item level for your shoulders above 136, you can throw them away, because then the enchantments won't work and you can not sell the rewards.
