but if you have a good group with you, that will always let you roll on the nethers alone..and do heroic instances all the time.....gratz (first time i saw this i thought it was a two handed weapon lol)

This very nice mace is crafted by having blacksmithing and being a Master Hammersmith.
You can upgrade the mace as you progress in the game. Getting the first level
simply require you to farm all the mats and getting the skill required. The second step
and last requires quite a bit more than that.

The first step - Drakefist Hammer (BS 350 skill)

- The hard part here is the Primal Nether which can be found in both
normal and heroic raids. They are not so common in normal mode though.

The third and last step - Dragonstrike (BS 375 skill)

- The hard part here is the Nether Vortex that *only* drops in 25-man raids.

Anyone know the proc rate for this? I just got it made and it seems like it may be a little higher than drakefist was. It could be in my head though.

Hemo works off weapon speed, this would be a terrible Hemo weapon and would decimate your dps. Basic rule of Hemo is the slower the weapon the harder it hits. The faster the weaker it is.

Great for combat tho:)

Just craft my mace today. I havent seen anything too amazing with it yet but ive had the unfortunate luck of only fighting warriors and casters with alot of armor (soul linke warlocks, shadow priests, frost mages with their fucking shields....)

Well after some testing im pretty happy with the weapon. The crits are nice and i get 1k white crits far more often which makes me happy. Im unsure if the procrate has increased at all but i doubt it has. Ill have better testing of this thing after tonights raiding.

Sword spec is that good? Really, you need to read patch notes and stuff when downloading new patches. Since they 'buffed' sword spec to give extra crits on the spec proc it is about to undergo its SECOND nerf.

IMO sword spec is becoming less viable for raiding over other specs such as combat fists/daggers/maces.

fury warriors typically want a fast offhand yes, but the main reason you get this is because of the haste rating proc so its makes it possible to have a slow weapon in your offhand to negate the fact of having slow weapons

It's a great dps mace, as others have noted, but it's also a very nice threat generator for an occasional warrior tank. The increase in dps over a King's Defender (for example) adds threat, gives you more rage with which to add more threat, and the slow speed and resulting high range of damage makes "weapon damage" attacks like Devastate more effective, resulting in still more threat. You might not want to use it on bosses, but it can be very effective in your "threat set".

Just one question...can this be dual wielded? It is a "one-hand" weapon that is not "unique-equipe". Honestly i'm happy with one, but 2 would be insane.

This was trainable for Master Hammersmiths from Weaponsmithing trainers, but Blizzard "forgot" to move the spells to general BS trainers when they removed the specialities.

The weapon can still be made, but only by someone who already knew the recipe before the change. Don't do what I did and forget that it's BoP. Spent a few thousand gold on the mats then realized it's impossible for me to get...

I know this is a long shot, but I would really like to see a petition for Blacksmiths to be able to make these weapons again:

Lionheart Executioner: Spadone Cuor di Leone
Lionheart Champion: Campione Cuor di Leone

and

Dragonstrike: Cresta del Drago
Dragonmaw: Fauce del Drago

I think they were removed at some point due to Blizzard revamping the BS profession and getting rid of weapon mastery.

Hopefully the WoWHead community can make a statement to blizzard.

New from 5.2 PTR Patch notes!

The legacy weapons Blizzard said Blacksmiths could craft at the 5.2 Lightning Forge are in! They're versions of old BC Weaponsmith items.
