I have two tanking sets - one for mitigation in raids, and one for threat generation in heroics. The heroic set is stuff with as much block and block value as possible, and this back is one of the items in that set.

Very nice for imba shield slams.

Certainly a great item for a mitigation set. I'm trying to passively push Hits off the combat table in heroics and with a healthy amount of BV, mitigate the incoming hits.

Considering that shield block is a static 2rage/sec drain, it can lead to rage-starvation in heroics and regular 5-mans, where my avoidance hurts rage generation. It's a better idea to keep a high block rating and rely on Shield Spec to produce a net gain in rage. This will allow me to stop using shield block altogether.

This cape is one of the few items with a BR and BV combo and should greatly alleviate the rage-starved situations where I'm forced to tank chest-less.

The cloak from BM is equal to if not superior and much easier to acquire. The BM cloak is from a very easy and short normal instance whereas this one is from a long heroic.

Actually, the 26 defense rating on the Burnoose increase your Parry, Dodge, Block and Miss percentages by 0.44 each, meaning around 1.76% avoidance (counting Block as avoidance even though its mitigation). Meaning the actual differences between the two cloaks is

+11 Stamina
- 138 Armor
+1.97 Block %
- .44 Dodge, Parry, and Miss %

I'd say the two are an even trade at best, though I'd personally only use the Ironscale for AoE Grinding and in a threat set if I overgeared a 5-man.

I have not come across many black cloaks, so this is nice to go with a black transmogrification set like Dark Iron Plate

5.73% drop chance listed above is not accurate. It's a 1/6 chance (16%), like the other 5 items he drops on heroic. Got mine on the second kill, which was relatively kind of the RNG.
