Be sure to grab one of these as you leave Dire Maul east. You should then go up to Moonglade and talk to the chief druid, Rabine Saturna, in Moonglade. He will give you the "Shards of Felvine" quest and you can complete this for a good shield or +int offhand reward.

In our group only 3 people were able to pick them up.... Stupid hunters grabbed them and they can't even use the rewards. My druid would've liked that offhand : /

Save yourself a long trip!

In order to get the Shards of the Felvine quest which this Felvine Shard is for, you will have to get a Reliquary of Purity from the Dusty Reliquary in Silithus as well.

If you go to Moonglade with the Felvine Shard, and you have not gotten the item from Silithus or done the quest which sends you there, you will only get a gossip option, which opens up a quest to travel to Silithus: A Reliquary of Purity.

From the page for A Reliquary of Purity, the comments mention that the Reliquary of Purity is lootable even if you are not on the quest, so I suggest you go and pick up the Reliquary before heading to Moonglade at all. This will save you a trip from one side of the continent to the other and back.

Once you turn in A Reliquary of Purity, Shards of the Felvine becomes available. When you pick up that quest, you will be given a different Reliquary of Purity which can be used with the Felvine Shard to create a Sealed Reliquary of Purity, and thus completing the quest.

The shards are very small and may be hidden under the corpses of Alzzin's minions. They are on the ground slightly left of the thorny vine that was behind Alzzin.

Be weary that they do disappear, had a run where hunter couldn't loot due to them "vanishing".

A Felvine Shard is a quest item from the Shards of the Felvine quest in Dire Maul given by Furgus Warpwood. In order to complete the quest you will need to eliminate both Zevrim Thornhoof and Alzzin the Wildshaper.

In order to gain access to Alzzin the Wildshaper you will need to kill Zevrim Thornhoof first. After you have done this you need to talk to Old Ironbark. After you talk to him he will be redeemed and become Ironbark the Redeemed. He will then run towards the previously sealed door breaking it open to reveal the final part of the instance.

Here you will find Alzzin the Wildshaper. Kill him and loot one of the five Felvine Shard found as small red glowing shards on the floor to his right. Looting a shard will enable your Reliquary of Purity which once used will turn into a Sealed Reliquary of Purity.

At this point you can return the quest to Furgus Warpwood near the Dire Maul East entrance.
