This mount has a chance to be the reward for participaing in Island Expeditions. As of the current beta version, all the Island Expedition mounts appear to be awarded randomly, but it's probably fair to assume that they have a higher drop chance when winning the scenario.

There are a total of 5 mounts from the Island Expeditions, with the other four being:
- Gracchino
- Medusa Schiumosa
- Segugio Eterno di Qinsho
- Saltabaratri Cornosaldo

Unfortunately, Blizz made this drop so rare Wowhead doesn't yet have a STAT for its rarity, as in: nobody who uses this site has gotten it and reported it yet. In fact, we don't even know if this is a mythic only mount, if it is a conditional drop chance, or if it CAN be obtained yet at all because so few (if any) people have gotten it we just haven't heard of them.

EDIT: Since posting this, Blizz has twice claimed to increase the drop rates of island expeditions, yet we still know nothing of the drop conditions.

In order to get a chance to drop this mount, twilight drakes must spawn in the island. It's a really small chance, even with twilight drakes spawning at tier 3 invasion. RNG of RNG

Black drakes may spawn in the island but they don't give chance to drop this mount, they have a different loot table. AND, they never spawn together... either you will see a twilight drakes invasion or a black drake invasion, never both in the same island.

According to blizzard, the chances are higher in hard difficulties, which implies that mythic have the best chances.

Some great news on these drops and ways to have a better shot at them! For those who have not seen it yet, Wowhead posted an article that mostly spells out how to have a higher chance to get them and how this was determined:

So if you queue up with people and are wanting these, it seems best to kill the named rares, loot treasures and focus killing the mobs who are invading as well (when those occur (seemingly more in normal mode)) along with the same types of mobs who these drops belong too (and some of those are still being figured out). This may also mean not killing the elementals that spawn, as was mentioned by some in comments.... Good luck to all and credit to all those involved in figuring this out!

i just got it from a pvp expedition, killed two packs of twilight dragons (no rares) and my party members looted 2 chests

I have started to compile a simple guide of what to target on expeditions, based on what ive read on comments, it’s a bit empty at the moment, but hoping everyone can help me update (id put this all in a table if i could work out how - sorry)

A few things to note:

The mounts can drop on all difficulties, at any level, and even if you lose

The below is not 100%, as ive stated above this is just info ive gathered from comments, there could be more to add, which I will as I find out

Make sure to loot all chests that have a rare or mob guarding them

i got this mount on normal, with a single rare on the island with a chest and 2 simple mobs, so any twilight rare will do

Got it today from a normal island, Verdant Wilds with Primal Druids. I didnt killed any Twilight Drakes on that expedition. It was my 2nd Mount since the Patch and made ~50-60 expeditions so far. Gl everyone for hunting that Expedition-Mounts.

I Started doing normal ie's on my Demon Hunter twink and when Talismano del Coniglio came I bought a lot of them and sent them over to my main character and started running mythic ie's. I used three accounts while I was doing ie's. My other two accounts were afk on the ship while I was running around looting and gathering azerite on my main. (Since I had 3 accounts my total attempts are 14061) I wrote my attempts below as one account and my attempts as 3 accounts in parentheses.

Just received from a Heroic Island Expedition for the weekly cap. I actually had forgotten about this mount, as I was so focused on the storm drake. But this is far better in my opinion. I do not farm Islands at all, so I got especially lucky.

Turns out this mount is still extremely rare, with only 1.4% of players reported to own. I'm special!

i just joined a random heroic island to finish my weekly quest, run was 3/4 done. I encountered and kill Thorisiona + a couple drakes next to it. Got the mount at the end.

If you are thinking "omg" after reading the other comments then dont worry as there is another way to get these island mounts ,which is way much better than this rng . So i have made some posts which i will be copy pasting here ,now the way to get these mounts is still rng but way much less than drop from island .There is a vendor near the Island Expedition Map Table - Captain Kitt for the Horde and Captain Nightrunner for the Alliance which sells some boxes ,those are only available 3 per week regardless of what island is underway and those boxes are 175 seafarers dubloons each . So i m just copy pasting the mount info from my main post .

Now these are the drops from 175 Seafarers-Dubloon Epic boxes , the other boxes for 120 Seafarers-Dubloon has a chance to drop Stonehide-Elderhorn and Surf-Jelly

Now there are like 3 to 4 items in each box which can include mount/pet/mog/azerite quest .
So Good Luck as the drop rate is around 20% give or take and doing mythic at this point is not that hard as it was before and u get quite a lot of duns from mythics .

I got this mount doing my first HC expedition with 1 more friend after a 6 month break from BFA.
Love drakes, but most drakes looks so boring or "over the top".
But this one i really like, great Welcome-Back-Gift :D
Other than the mount, i have only gotten several pets and other Bullsh*t..

Received this mount drop from my first Crestfall PvP run (I've done numerous mythic varieties). We were defeated, so that confirms that you don't have to win to get a the chance.

Just got this from a Mythic Crestfall where a lot of Twilight dragons spawned in halfway through. I made sure to focus on killing them all.

Just got this from a Mythic Verdant Wilds with Keepers of the Grove. Twilight dragons spawned halfway through and the mount dropped at the end.
