The name is probably not a reference to Morrowind, but reading Umbra makes me think to the Orc Umbra, a warrior found near Suran looking for a warrior's death, in battle. Despite his little role in the game, it is probably my favourite character of this chapter of Elders Scrolls games.

This is the rare enchanting material for Battle for Azeroth, along with the common Polvere Tenebrosa and epic Cristallo Velato.

Patch 8.1 added two enchanting spells to convert between these materials: Frantumazione Velata (convert 1 Cristallo Velato to 2 Scheggia Ombrale) and Frantumazione Ombrosa (convert 1 Scheggia Ombrale to 3 Polvere Tenebrosa). (Why modern Blizzard now refuses to include these spells with expansion launches is left as an exercise to the reader).

Disenchanting BfA blues will get you 1-2 Scheggia Ombrale plus 1-2 Polvere Tenebrosa. Seems to be around a 50% chance of getting two shards and 50% of getting two dust. There is also a chance (seems to be around 20%) of getting a single Scheggia Ombrale when disenchanting BfA epics (along with a Cristallo Velato).
