To any Druids wondering, it's not much use for bear/moonkin form because the 300 armor does not multiply.

Anyone looking for this item should just run Mara and hope it comes off a scion. I know the drops tab lists it as being a potential drop from a highborne in Azshara and the sandfury witchdoctors in ZF -- but the best place to get this is in Mara.

The other alternative is to farm something ELSE for cash and then purchase the item on AH. If you keep an eye on the AH you can get a decent deal for this (meaning under 100g).

Warriors and Paladins would definitely benefit from the Stamina bonus and 300 armor, but I don't think it is worth the 10 seconds. Also spirit does nothing for them. People are better off selling this in AH to others who just want an epic.

This ring sucks, if you find it, sell it on the AH for cash.

The "use" ability for +300 armour has a cooldown of 30 minutes, so it is basically useless. You can find better rings with more stable stats (Blackstone Ring for example from Princess in Maraudon *i know, low drop rate).

Bottom line is, sell this thing on AH, if you're going to use it, you're losing out on a lot of cash.

Note: Unique.. I cried when a second one of these dropped for me in the searing gorge. The first one off a dark iron taskmaster, the second off a lava spider. Because I was solo'ing, I couldn't even give the damn thing to anyone as I had one equipped. I also question the suggested drop rate of this thing because according to wowhead, the odds of finding one are super rare.. finding TWO.. inconceivable.

Used this ring from lvl 41 all the wayt to 63 as a fury dps warrior, when i got a better one from a quest. Definetly a valuable item to have.

This ring is terrible imo.

10 seconds is way to short a duration
300 armor is not nearly enough to make any significant difference
30 minute cooldown is a joke, maybe 3 or 5 minutes would be more fitting
A tank has no need for Spirit

I would use Deadman's Hand, a 29 epic ring, (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34227) over this any day.

This ring is deservingly an epic ring when used in the right manner. I personally see it as an invaluable caster solo'ing ring. Armor, is not linear--x amount of armor will not always give y amount of damage reduction. In actuality, it scales meaning as you want to increase your damage reduction, you require more and more armor.

Thus, the classes with the least amount of armor (casters wearing cloth), the +300 armor will help the most. I have used one on my mage, and I will say, that I can count the number of times that I have either pulled aggro on unwanted mobs, popped the ring to give me that extra bit of toughness I need to survive long enough to escape. The 30 minute cool down is actually quite reasonable; I don't think the ring was meant to give you a constant +300 armor, as that would make this ring on a caster quite overpowered. Instead, it is suppose to be used occassionally when in need. The 30 minute cool down, is much shorter than I'll ever need when solo'ing smart. Not to mention the +140HP bonus from the ring is one of the highest available on a ring at the level you can wear it, allowing you to either stack Stamina, or allowing you to have your other pieces of gear veered towards solid DPS.

As a tanking ring, I suggest that it only be used by paladins or druids. The 300 armor DOES NOT stack for druids in bear form, but I have noticed that there is an animation when I proc it. I believe this is a taunt and helps tanks maintain aggro while slightly increasing their armor. For a warrior tank, the taunt, and stamina are pretty ridiculous for a ring at this level but I believe there are better over all rings as the Spirit is pretty much worthless to them.

I just thought I'd defend this ring a little, I think its really a "love it or hate it" type of deal, and I am definitely the former.

It drops everywhere but has the highest chance to drop in mara. Got one off the hydras during a run on my main. Anyone wondering how much it goes for? Yes its useless. There are so many other rings better than this one. I sold mine for 300g (what a jackass :p).

Good stats for a healer... Stam is always good and so is Spirit...

300 extra armor you can pop it in case of emergency healing instances... That 300 armor may save a squishy priests life...

This rings Use is just the cakes cream - it has a very high stamina value and is usable for tanks, but yes - it is weak for an epic. Epic is, however, just rarity - the items colour doesn't always tell if its better than something.

It is a relatively powerful ring for its level, - at least stamina-wise - but underwhelming for an epic - don't compare it to a greenie, you know yourself that it is one of the best choices until 50s.

By the way... "static" armor given by it, according to my calculations, is just 1.666x....... which is nothing. If you use it every time the cooldown is over, that is. :-)

The way I see it, this is a very nice ring to see drop. The reason for this is that it sells quite well, because it is a low level purple. A ring that makes people go: "OMG EPIX"! This is what makes it sell for quite a few gold.

Other than this, it's a really crappy ring. The stamina is nice, the spirit not really .. and the USE is ridiculous. Epics are clearly supposed to be for twinks (meaning the best, or comparable gear). This ring is clearly not a twink ring. The armor bonus is very minor, and lasts only for 10 seconds .. on a 30 min CD! This is comparable with a 3 min CD for a 1 sec buff.

Casters should rather go for a ring with spell damage and stamina (for pvp). The class that would make most use of this is a pally tank. Making use of the stamina and use, and the spirit for a bit more mana which is needed during tanking. However, even a pally would not benefit much from this over other rings. Paladin tanks are probably pretty rare when leveling. And as a twink item this is just no way near good enough.

Bottom line: Use this while leveling (which it MAY be nice to have for), or sell it on the AH for a nice extra bit of gold. I would prefer a more offensive ring either way and sell it. The only reason I would actually use this if I would level in instances constantly with a pally ... although there may be better rings for that as well (have not done research into this). When this drops be very happy regardlessly, it is one of the best drops you can get while leveling!

The only use for this ring I can think of is for a Priest. The spirit and stamina isn't bad, and stacked with Inner Fire, the use effect could reduce physical damage by a decent margin in a pinch. Still, the 30 minute cooldown is too long. Only pick it up if you run across it as a drop, or for cheap on the AH. I bought it for 300g for my Holy Priest alt because I have more gold than I know what to do with.

The only thing this ring is good for is making money lol. I bought it in AH for 6g? Really? I re-sold it less than 24 hours later for 75g. Not a huge profit, but made me happy lol.

The gold I could make from selling this ring would make no difference to me,
so I decided to test this ring out on a level 43 character (that has 567 armor).

So after clicking on the Ring of Saviors the armor goes from 567 to 867 (a 52.91% increase)
and the "Reduces Physical Damage taken by*" goes from 12.27% to 17.61%.

The best thing about this ring is obviously the +14 Stamina, which at level 41 isn't bad.
The "Use:" is just a bonus, which because of the short duration (10 sec) and long cooldown (30 min)
is of little value on its own.

If the "Use:" duration was changed to 60 seconds instead of 10 seconds and had a cooldown of 5 mins
(like the Ankh of Life trinket cooldown) instead of 30 mins, it might be somewhat useful.

* To see the "Reduces Physical Damage taken by"
1. open the Character Info window
2. scroll to the Defense section
3. mouse over the word Armor

By the way if you are looking for extra armor or to reduce damage the following items might be of interest:

Wow, I don't even understand why it's getting flat-out blasted. You don't have to use it or buy it. No one is forcing you to equip anything. And no, I don't think it was made for tanks in the least. Of course the stats are absurd for tanks. The name probably alludes to the fact that it was originally designed with squishies in mind.

I picked this up right after BC came out, in Ashzara, I believe. Before it was... pretty much leveled and redesigned for the Horde. I never did get to appropriately explore the place. I gave it to my priest. Yes, I could go farm for something better if that's really what I was going for. But there's no time anymore. You basically blink and you're at 60. There's no point in farming better equipment that's just going to get replaced in 20 minutes. Before? Maybe. But it's great for a casual run through low-level content, especially if one of the better items doesn't drop in that time. It's even lasting now. It's difficult to replace BOTH rings in Outlands until around 65 unless you 1) know where all the ring upgrade quests are, and do all the questing required for what is usually a chain, 2) have it drop or 3) are dungeoning actively.

For a casual PvE player, this ring is just fine. And since it's got memories attached to it, I'm still wondering whether to DE it for the shards or throw it in Void Storage to look at and remember. Don't like it? Fine, sell it to someone else. I don't feel it's really necessary to insult others' intelligence based on their unwillingness to sink extra unnecessary time into the game to find something "better". You can find something better eventually anyway.

thanks to patch 6.0 stat squish, this item is actually good for its level now. about 3-4 more stamina than other rings of its level, and an on-use effect (albeit near useless). picked it up for a few hundred gold because i was looking to min-max my tank's HP.
