i have a character on this quest on the horde side but i got one of these when i was on the alli side. the alli toon hasnt started the quest yet to collect these items. so im wondering if i use them if the count towards my horde toons wep skin?

If you get this before you receive the quest, mind that opening the item will yield you nothing at all, it simply disappears, wait until you are actually on the quest.

My Demon Hunter alt started obtaining these after my Rogue main completed the quest... maybe an alt catch up mechanic. Contained 5 essences inside.

I opened one of these, and got nothing.
I was on the quest and I was still needing more Essenza Corrotta.
Anyone else experienced this?

This is probably a catch-up mechanism for those who have completed atleast that part of the quest once already.
Im at the 20 Nightshard quest on my used-to-be main, now im playing my alt and I just received 30/30 Corrupted Essence from 1 H-EN run. Each boss except the first dropped this Seething Essence, each rewarding 5x Corrupted Essence.

Sad thing is that I didn't know about this mechanism and I just did an Nighthold run yesterday night. Meh -1 week.

Don't open these until you have about 6-7 of them from Heroic, as of 8.1.5 I got 5 corrupted essences each when I opened 4 of them then started getting 1-3 from bosses.

Seems like this can drop multiple times now as for 10.1. Got only 17 essences (only one Seething) on first week and got 3 Seething Essences on consecutive first three bosses the following week.
