Mythic Warforged ilvl 850 gives 1.32% damage reductions stacking 3 times, best part is that your AOE damage like Demon hunter immolation aura does apply the debuff on targets other than you main target.

This is just an opinion but I do believe that this is a really nice Tank trinket.

At level 890, crits reduce damage by 2.2 percent per crit so it starts to gets better at higher item level.

I spent some time (as blood DK) to compare this one with the talisman of the cragshapper using them for 9 min on the tanking dummy (112 lvl Dungeoneer's dummy). Here are the results:

For me the Talisman is the clear winner
I took 5 mil more damage with it but
I did 6 mil more absorbs
I did 4.5 mil more self healing done
If we say the extra damage is compensated with the absorbs, the healing (which is crazy for the DK) is the benefit, and this will scale more in a party.

One of the best damage reduction trinkets in the game, especially if you can get a 910+ version of it from Argunite trinket tokens.

I snagged a 920 one, and it gives 2.66% per stack, for a total of 7% damage reduction, which is equivalent to ~6,650 versatility.

And yes, just about any crit against the target will proc the debuff. As a Monk, every individual hit from Rushing Jade Wind will proc the trinket, so I pretty much have 100% uptime, even on single targets.

Got this on my VDH at 463 in patch 10.2 at the start of Dragonflight Season 3. I'm having a hell of a time figuring out if it actually works properly or not. The debuff definitely does apply to the enemies and has an extremely high uptime of >95% but usually effects that reduce damage done by a flat amount like this will show up either as healing or damage prevented on Details! and/or Warcraft Logs. For example there have been several trinkets that have similar effects of reducing damage by a flat number which tend to show up under Healing. However most of those trinkets function as a buff on the user, whereas this functions as a debuff on the target.

I've tested many times in various keys and spent a couple hours digging through the logs of each one, yet I cannot find any indication anywhere that the damage taken from enemy attacks is actually being reduced by this at all. I'm forced to conclude that either this trinket's effect is bugged and isn't reducing damage at all, or the reduction in damage is not showing anywhere in logs or Details!

This lack of information is unfortunate because it makes it quite hard to judge the value of this trinket. It could add up to a decent amount of damage reduction considering that it would seem to be intended to apply to ALL incoming damage events coming from a target with the debuff, as this is how it worked in Legion, except back then it was a percentage reduction of incoming damage as opposed to a flat value. Still, it has the potential to be a decent tanking trinket but we will never know until this data is made visible somehow.

For the moment I unfortunately have to recommend never wearing this trinket for any reason until we can figure out what is going on here.

Honestly the Heart of Darkness might not be very good even if it worked, but through tanking dummy testing I am fairly certain that it isn't working at all, which kind of sucks because if true means tanks have a literally useless trinket that can drop for us.
