UPDATE: Rare solves in Legion will be obtained in a different way than previous expansions - see below!

This Trinket is one of the new Rare solves in Legion Archaeology. At item level 815, it will be on par with the highest quality crafted items (although it's unlikely this can be upgraded with Obliterum the way crafted items can). For comparison, Tier 19 LFR Gear will be item level 835.

There will be 3 new races of artifacts to unearth - Demon, Highmountain Tauren, and Highborne. This Trinket will be a Demon solve.

The achievement for unearthing all of the Common Legion archaeology finds is Maneggiare con cura.
The achievement for unearthing all of the Rare Legion archaeology finds is Un occhio sopraffino.

Obtaining Rare Solves in Legion

Based on the latest information, Legion Archaeology Rare solves WILL NOT be obtained from surveying, but rather will be part of an ongoing story questline. Every 2 weeks a quest will appear from the Archaeology trainer (Dariness la Dotta), granting a Rare project at its completion. Note that level 110 will be required for these quests.

In older Dalaran Dariness la Dotta was in the Legerdemain Lounge, but she is now located in Things of the Past, a shop on the northeast side of the Magus Commerce Exchange, between the Forge of Fate and the Like Clockwork, the Engineering shop.

Chiave di Kalyndras	Highborne	Use: Gain access to a secret side room within Black Rook Hold (one of the new 5-man dungeons in Legion). Uncertain whether this is consumed on use (and whether the unlock is permanent).
Dragony Tunkins	Demonic	Battle Pet. Teaches the Humanoid pet Dragony Tunkins, a Treasure Demon with a little pack and books on it's back.
Shard of Sciallax	Highmountain Tauren	Relic. Item level 805. Various types. Binds to Battle.net Account. Can be placed in an Artifact Weapon to increase its item level (by 31) and grants a rank of a Minor Trait.

Sangue di Mannoroth da Giovane	Demonic	Putting this in your Obliterum Forge will produce some Obliterum + Cenere di Obliterum.
Chiave dell'Accademia di Nar'thalas	Highborne	Use: Visit a time-lost version of the Nar'thalas Academy. Use the keys again to return to the present. (5 Sec Cooldown). Nar'thalas Academy is an area in the middle of Legion zone Azsuna. Using this will unlock access to a number of quests and minigames.
Spirito di Eche'ro	Highmountain Tauren	Mount. A ghostly moose. "The spirit of Huln Highmountain's pet moose."
Le Colline Viola di Eredath	Demonic	Consumable item. Use: Read the book to empower your artifact weapon. Grants Artifact Power to your Artifact weapon.

For clarification purposes on the trigger effect of this trinket: it sends either imps at an enemy you are attacking (e.g. with weapons, spells and abilities) or the opponent of your target if you are a healer. This means that the summoned imps won't be sent at a friendly target, e.g. in a dungeon group where a hunter attacks an enemy the imps will always attack the enemies and not the own group members.
Basically, the last three words of the trigger effect only apply to spells/effects which are cast on friendly targets.

This is my opinion, but this dig site is such an incredible pain it's just not worth it for a level 815 item.

Just got this item tonight... unfortunately it is just awful.

The imps seem to do a flat 100 damage, for a grand total of 1,300 per proc. There does not seem to be an internal cooldown (I got back to back procs) but even if it was 100% uptime it would be worthless.

It does look hilarious though. I'm holding onto it just in case it gets a buff.

In all seriousness, I just got this thing, and while the passive Crit is insanely high for an 815 trinket (compared to my 865 Unstable Horrorslime which has only 986 Crit), the proc is beyond worthless. It summons ~13 imps, each dealing 100 damage. Yes you read that right. 100 damage. Not 100k, not 10k, not even 1k, but a measly, worthless, 100 damage. Unless you're a stupid completionist like me, do not even bother getting it out of curiosity.

Oh and on top of the pathetically weak damage it does, it doesn't even have the courtesy to have a stupid high RPPM. In fact, it seems to proc every 30-45s, resulting in a paltry 43.33 DPS increase at best. 43.33.

As others have said, this trinket is worthless. My imps were doing 101 damage.

On top of all the other stuff that's been pointed out by others in the comments, it has no sell price and cannot be disenchanted.

10/10 on the spitefulness scale.

Edit: Either Blizzard did a stealth hotfix to give it a sell price or Wowhead's info is bugged. Regardless, it had none when I completed the quest and posted this comment.

To give you an idea of this item's worthlessness, a single melee hit from a warlock does 30x times more damage than this trinket's proc.

For the amount of time it takes to actually get this trinket (the last digsite is like ten digsites combined) and the amount of enemies you have to kill which award absolutely no loot whatsoever, this trinket should just be converted into a toy that when used opens up a portal and summons a bunch of non-combat imps who follow you around for like 5 minutes. By the time you are actually able to survive the onslaught of the Halls of Valor digsite, your ilvl is going to be far higher than the usefulness of this trinket.

This trinket has a LOT of critical strike rating for it's item level when you compare it with a trinket like Icona di Putrefazione from mythic Nighthold. It really doesn't matter the proc is useless if critical strike rating is what you are stacking, this is BiS for quite some time.

Fighting with this thing is hilarious. Ignore the fact that the imps do virtually no damage. If crit is good for you, use it - it has a lot, and it will make you smile.

The general consensus points to the uselessness of this trinket. Everyone's right. Its only value is novelty.

But unfortunately, it is a required criteria of Scoperte rare - which itself is a criteria of Combattere con stile: Potenziato.

The quest Dariness la Dotta offers changes every other week(Every quest is up for 2 weeks), in the same order as they are listed above.

These quests require Legion Expansion and Character-level 45+ and are available to both Horde and Alliance.
