Yeah I felt very cheated/disappointed as a Mail Armor wearer that I cannot mog this Shipyard Achievement Reward. It feels wrong to reward me with armor I cannot use. One more item to sit in bags ? Its one thing to get armor you can't use from drops etc. But as an achievement reward? Seems like a bit of an oversight to me. They have systems in place that detect what armor type I am and even spec when I "create" a Baleful item. Would have been nice to see this technology/system apply to this item as well.

And well lets be honest here, Its not like we get a lot from the Shipyard. It is NOT fun, and really has very little to recommend it. VERY unenticing rewards. If it was not for the legendary I wouldn't do it at all. And I certainly won't on alts. At least the regular follower/mission table system was kind of rewarding enough to warrant the 16k expense of upgrading all your garrison buildings buying plans AGAIN etc . There were missions that over time certainly covered that. The shipyard falls VERY flat in comparison to even that poor competition.

And while the Captain's Hat is no great shakes of a reward or even a "great" Mog item (seems like a bit of a niche Mog item but it has potential for a set) At least let me be ABLE TO if I want to, on each character that earned it with the armor type that THAT character uses. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Edit July 17,2015: It appears they have now corrected this issue. This reward is now a Cosmetic Item for both factions.

Recent Hotfix made it cosmetic for xmog !

Captain’s Hat for both factions are now a cosmetic item.

Am I the only one that wishes the blue were a little darker on this? Specifically to match this expac's Insegna di Roccavento... It would only make sense IMO.

For example, here's my wanted transmog set with the Captain's Hat included. The blue is a little brighter in the model viewer, but in-game the blue is noticeably more lighter.

My hunter is currently using this hat with the following transmog. I was trying to go for a look that says "I'm comfortable on a boat on the high seas, but I can totally kick your ass on land too".

Chest, shoulders and gloves have come from the Dark Vessel set. The belt is from a quest in Nethersorm and the boots and legs are world drop BoE's, so the AH is the best place to farm for them. Shirt can be bought from a vendor in Stormwind.

I wish they would make hats like this placeable ontop of your hairstyle. This really ruins things for many characters of both genders. It especially makes most female characters look ridiculous when their hair turns into a buzzcut and not all transmogs go well with that. Hell a lot of transmogs would look even better with a hat that has a variety of optional hair styles underneath.
