Interesting throwback to the TBC Shadowmoon Valley questline Il Cifrario della Dannazione, which culminated in you slaying Cyrukh il Signore del Fuoco. Gul'Dan reading the Cipher of Damnation was what broke the Orcs' connection to the spirits and (if memory serves) turned Shadowmoon Valley into its TBC state. Cyrukh is thought to be the Draenor equivalent of Ragnaros.

As the above/below poster has mentioned this pet is a reference to the quest line to assemble the cipher of damnation in tbc which culminated in a 5 man(intended, more likely doable with 2-3) to kill cyrukh the firelord. No doubt a fire based elemental gone crazy with fel contamination, not that fire elementals tend to be fantastically reasonable as it is. The cipher probably involved forcing felpower down the fire elementals throat(metaphorically) and then forcing it to reach into the core of the world and trigger an explosion, boosted by the power of fel it was able to overwhelm its elemental counterparts of that world.

From what I understand, reading the cipher of damnation caused far more than that. It quite literally, (unlike the Azeroth "sundering" which split kalimdor from azeroth the continent(east from west south north) split the planet into fragments.

What I mean is.. notice the outlands map.. its a few zones.... floating in space. There is no ocean.

Draenor is an actual world.. with other continents and lands we will likely never see. Even the ogres are based on another continent across the sea.. yes the sea. When Draenor was sundered the oceans boiled away or froze into chunks , and the land was split apart and thrown far and wide. You can literally fall off the edge of the world and it does not take all that long in outlands. Entire chunks of mantle/crust/core are gone in outlands version. Basically it appears some combination of magic/hand of god and elementals keeping the land together is what is keeping those remaining chunks of outland alive.

Either the other continents and the ocean flew off somewhere else never to be heard of again by us. or they were completely destroyed.

Truly it was the cipher of damnation. The sacrifice of an entire world at least 99% of one anyway. The resulting power was no doubt "fed" to the legion.

While I am pleased with the pet overall.. that it exists.. to be honest i was hoping for a mini green beard giant. (reference to how the lava giants in mc used to use cyrukh's model or is that the other way around) before being changed when the fire lands came out in cata. Yes molten core used to be guarded by flaming/fluffy beard giants

This item (and battle pet) became first available to players on July 14th, 2015, which is the day the phased area first became playable to players.

IMPORTANT: This battle pet item can not be obtained until you have completed All'inseguimento di Gul'dan / All'inseguimento di Gul'dan on a character. The item used to learn this pet is located in a phased area. Specifically, in the area you use to complete the quest Il Cifrario della Dannazione / Il Cifrario della Dannazione .

Frammento di Cyrukh is in the Frammento di Cifrario Dimenticato treasure. To get Frammento di Cifrario Dimenticato you have to complete Il Cifrario della Dannazione / Il Cifrario della Dannazione questlines. The treasure is under the stone pillar in the last quest area.

All Hands On Deck, The Invasion of Tanaan - an introductory part of the Tanaan questline, can be completed on the same day.
Bane of the Bleeding Hollow, Dark Ascension, The Fate of Teron'gor - a random campaign will appear at your Tanaan Jungle Outpost. You can do only one campaign a week from this list, so it will take you 3 weeks.
