This item replaces three items that were formerly used in upgrading Inscription items:
Tarocco Stregato Instabile (640 to 655)
Tarocco Stregato Superiore Instabile (655 to 670)
Tarocco Stregato Potente Instabile (670 to 685)

A substantial benefit to this item is that it is fractions of the cost to craft versus the former listed items, making it a lot cheaper and easier to upgrade your Inscription pieces.

Each of the 640 Darkmoon Faire trinkets/630 off-hands can be upgraded with items created by inscription.

*UPDATE for June 23, 2015* - Tarocco Stregato Superiore Instabile and Tarocco Stregato Potente Instabile can no longer be crafted. Pre-patch 6.2 upgrade items (created before the patch) can be deconstructed to create the following:

As of 6.2, the new initial upgrade item will be Tarocco Stregato (used for any and all upgrades until Stage 4). The upgrade items required for each stage are listed below:

**Note that 3 separate Tarocco Stregato items are required to get from Stage 1 to Stage 4.**

Notes about the upgrade items:

The upgrade items themselves are BoE and can be traded or sold on the Auction House
They can be used by anyone (not just scribes)
Using an upgrade item on gear will NOT bind it to you if it is not already bound to you
The upgrade item will NOT change the combination or proportion of stats on the item (e.g. if non-upgraded version has versatility and haste, the upgraded item will also have versatility and haste, just more of each stat)
These items can be used on gear that is already equipped
These upgrade items are exclusively crafted by Scribes - you cannot craft them as a non-Scribe, even with the Scribe's Quarters building in your garrison
The Sangue Selvaggio used for upgrades to Stage 2, 3 and 4 are obtained from the Garrison Barn, crafted by alchemists as a daily cooldown, or purchased from "Ispettrice" Sazsel Ditaleste (H)/Ashley Zerep (A) in your garrison for 25 Spirito Primordiale each
The Vilmorbo used for upgrades to Stage 5 and 6 are obtained from mining, herb gathering, skinning, or fishing in Tanaan Jungle

Notes about the Inscription trinkets:

Each trinket is created from a deck, and each deck requires 8 separate cards to create (as noted in the chart above).
The cards are created by the inscription skill Carta di Lunacupa di Draenor. This skill is available to Scribes OR to non-Scribes with a Level 2 or higher Scribes Quarters in their garrison.
The mats for Carta di Lunacupa di Draenor to create each card are 1 Cartapecora Leggera and 10 Colori di Guerra.
Carta di Lunacupa di Draenor creates a RANDOM darkmoon card, and as such it may not be the number or even the deck/trinket that you may be looking for. There are 32 different cards that can potentially be produced - any of those listed in the chart above.
Carta di Lunacupa di Draenor occasionally creates a joker - Jolly di Ferro, Jolly di Luna, Jolly di Visioni or Jolly di Guerra. These jokers can be turned in to Professor Thaddeus Paleo for ANY card in that series, of your choice.
Scribes learn Carta di Lunacupa di Draenor from Tecnica: Carta di Lunacupa di Draenor, a technique sold by the vendor in their Scribes quarters (Horde: Urgra/Alliance: Eric Altaquercia), or in Warspear (Maru'sa)/Stormshield (Joao Calhandro). The cost is 5 Segreto della Runografia di Draenor.
Right-clicking any card (when all 8 cards of the corresponding deck are in your bags) will create the appropriate deck. Right-clicking the deck will create the corresponding trinket. This can be done by non-Scribes, and the Darkmoon Faire is NOT required to do so.
The individual cards (e.g. Tre di Ferro, Otto di Luna), jokers (e.g. Jolly di Ferro) and decks (e.g. Mazzo della Guerra) are NOT soulbound and can be traded or sold on the Auction House.
The trinkets themselves are BoE, and can be traded or sold on the Auction House if they have not been equipped.
The trinkets DO NOT require Inscription to use.
The trinkets can be equipped at Level 91.
The trinkets count towards 1 of the 3 maximum Warlords of Draenor crafted items that you can have equipped at one time.
Upgrading the trinket will change the primary stat amount and the proc strength, although the duration of the proc, proc chance and internal cooldown of the trinket remain the same.
Two of the same trinket CAN be equipped (this includes two different stages of the same trinket). This is not very useful, however, as the trinkets share the same internal cooldown for procs (so proc frequency WILL NOT increase). If two different stages of the same trinket are equipped, only the stronger trinket will proc. The only benefit of a second equipped trinket of the same type would be the primary stats obtained.

Below are the base and upgraded versions of the off-hand. This item maintains whatever stats were on the base item when upgraded - the amount of those stats will increase though.

Notes about the Inscription off-hands (Tomo dell'Ombra):

They are BoE and can be sold on the Auction House or traded
They DO NOT require Inscription to use
They can be equipped at Level 91
The off-hands require 10 Cartapecora Leggera and 50 Colori di Guerra to craft
The off-hand will be crafted with +48-72 each of two random secondary stats (chosen out of Critical Strike, Haste, Mastery, Versatility or Multistrike)
The quantity of secondary stats when crafted is random as well (e.g. one item may have +63 crit and +63 haste, while another of the same type may have +66 crit and +58 haste)
The off-hand changes in appearance to be more elaborate as it is upgraded, with the addition of scrollwork accents and a gem.
The off-hand DOES NOT counts towards 1 of the 3 maximum Warlords of Draenor crafted items that you can have equipped at one time

This upgrades the level 640 Darkmoon Faire trinklets created using the card collections.
It does NOT upgrade the Savage (level 585), Laughing (level 565) or Ocean (level 540) Tarots created by Inscription.

This item no longer works to upgrade the Shadowtome, I have filed bug reports and a ticket twice. I am trying to get the transmog appearence but do not bother to craft the ensorcelled tarot until blizzard fixes this problem; I have heard this has been a bug since legion so it has not been fixed for two years, consider anything past the base transmog appearence unobtainable.

I am filing another ticket right now and expect them to send me the link to this wowhead page again, like they did for my last ticket. Hope the GM reading my ticket reads this before i submit my ticket. this is what i wrote:

Description The Warlords of Draenor inscription offhand item Shadowtome (ilvl 136) can not be upgraded with the Ensorcelled Tarot which is the item that is supposed to upgrade it up to the maximum ilvl of 139. There is an error message about it not being valid. I have 2 ensorcelled Tarot on me which I have tried to upgrade both a soulbound Shadowtome and a BOE version in my bags (and while the soulbound was equipped), I have filed a bug report also. This is my second ticket about this subject, I really only want the transmog. Can you remove the ensorcelled tarot from my bag and take the multiple shadowtomes i crafted from my inventory and unlock the appearences for the followup transmog of this Item. I am close to 92% of all appearences in the game, i need these transmogs.

edit: i notice when trying to use this item my castbar says "upgrade armor" i think that because it is supposed to upgrade offhands and trinkets the code for the item itself is broken.
