The item is not consumed on use. It has a 1h cooldown, same duration as the applied buff. So you need to keep this in your bags and use it once each hour.

When used on a bodyguard already under its effect (to refresh the buff duration if you're OCD like me) it returns them to standard size.
Do not fret, logging out and in will correct the issue.

I do like the percentage that this item reduces the follower. It's a shame, though, that the item has a cast time. It would be much more ore convenient if it operated in a way - like some toy box items do (Blazing Wings, Pretty Draenor Pearl, etc.) - so that it could be discretely incorporated into a macro for more consistent and easy use.

Just bought one and used if for my first time...unfortunately, the toon I'm using it with has Delvar as his current bodyguard. Now I can't find Delvar anywhere...lol.

WHY? Does this item NEED a cooldown? It's constantly glitching, what's the harm in casting it more than once an hour?

If you log out before the buff expires, the buff duration will stop counting down, but the cooldown on the item itself will continue to count down. I logged out with 17 minutes left on the buff and cooldown, came back a couple hours later, and the item was ready to use again, but my bodyguard still had 17 minutes left on his buff.

Blizz should just make this a permanent option instead of requiring more bag trash. minimally make a toy out of it that permanently downsizes the follower until used again.

Easily makes the top 5 of any list of "must have quality of life-items". For a meager 250 Garrison Resource this thing changes bodyguards from being the MS Office Assistants of Draenor to flavourful companions that help rather than hinder you outside of combat. Easily worth 10 times as much if you plan on using one on your adventures!

New Toys - Old Items Converting to Toys
I figured it's better now than later to start farming the old items that will be converted to toys in Legion. Who knows if they'll lower drop rates or how heavily they will be camped once they're added to the toybox.
I made myself a Google Sheets document to track all the toys being converted and it has the ability to mark off the item once you've found it. With the filters I can then hide any marked off toys. This has really helped me find and track the long list of items and I wanted to share it with the community. I've heavily cleaned it up for sharing purpose, so feel free to use it as you please!

I imagine the guy who wrote the code for the bodyguards wanted them to be full size. It has to be frustrating when the wow community transmogs over the weapon you just created and shrinks or wants to turn your champion invisible.
