Was in a group with Free-for-All looting enabled (someone was helping me farm it, they didn't even want it for themselves). In our case, the item only appeared to one person - others checked the corpse before and after the person looted and did not see anything. I wanted to confirm this seems to be personal loot regardless of your party's loot setting.

Im not sure if its just bad RNG or if people are having good RNG. But im at like 40 kills, its an estimate, if its off its because I actually have more...

No way this is 78% drop chance, killed him 6 days now (Once a day) And I only recieved 80 silver each time..

Respawn rate is approximately every 15 mins. Group/raid size does not matter because it's a 10% chance per character.

"Warleader Tome does not have any loot cooldowns attached to him, so you are welcome to farm him over the course of a day to try and get the item you want! Do keep in mind though that the drop is a chance, not a certainty, even after many kills, so don't be surprised if it takes a while. :)

Killed him with a group of 4 people just now, loot was on Group loot however I was the only one receiving the toy upon looting. 1st kill. Luck i guess :s

Okay, this is my theory about how you obtain the Outrider's Bridle toy. He spawns, yells his announcement. Pull him along with all the adds and kill him. Then type in this string. /run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(37546)) If it says true, you can basically forget "farming for the day" for it on that character. You won't get it in my opinion, unless for some reason that flags as false after you've killed him.

The key seems to be that first kill of the day and either a yes, toy drops, or no, toy doesn't drop. Highly suspect it all hinges on the first kill per day.

I made the ticket and gm responsed today. I can confirm that rare Warleader Tome can be killed only once per day. If you want to farm Warleader Tome so do it on different characters.

I spent an afternoon running raids to farm Warleader Tome. In approximately 240 loots, it seemed that the 17 drops only ever went to fresh players (people killing him for the first time that day). I can't say for sure, because I wasn't recording hard data.

The next three days, I decided to run cross-realm pre-made raids, and started recording detailed records. What follows is the results for random cross-realm raids (i.e. not parties, and not solo).

First, it should be noted that the toy can drop for multiple people in one kill (the most i saw at once was 3 toys for a raid of 8 people).

Using the Clopper-Pearson technique to calculate the exact confidence interval for a Binomial distribution, we come up with 95% confidence intervals (α= 0.05) for the two drop rates:

With 95% confidence, I can say that your first kill has a drop chance that is different, and higher, than your subsequent kills.

And i am going to say that, in a raid, your subsequent kill attempts have a 0% chance to drop the toy.

Note: People I know, and whose judgement i trust, have said that they got the toy after multiple solo kills on the same day. People on Wowhead have said that they have gotten the item on subsequent drops while in a party. I cannot speak to those points, as I only tested this while in a cross-realm pre-made raid. I also did not test dropping the raid and re-forming it. Nor did i test switching the raid to a different realm. These results are only for a random, cross-realm raid, using the pre-made tool, and killing him every 15 minutes over a course of three afternoons and evenings.

If you have a flying mount, you can swoop in and distract some of his riders to follow you for a bit. You can do this a few times until they are lagging behind him a great deal and he then rides alone. You can then ambush him and drag him off of his path so he can't yell for his warband when they catch back up.

I was able to kill him by himself at the outpost with all the Compensated Bruisers at 63.32, 35.73. His riders were still far up the road and I could see them keep going on their route as I fought him behind the outpost. This was about my 12th kill of him and 4th solo. This was by far the cleanest way I've killed him. I was luring him into Telaar for my other solo kills, but I was always bringing his riders.Luckily for me, he did finally drop the toy on this attempt.

This should work at any point along his route as long as you separate him from his warband enough. Just make sure you drag him a good distance off his known route.

I'm very sure that you only get one chance each day for the drop, like others have mentioned.
Spent many hours the first day grinding Gran Condottiero Tome, with no luck.
Got him on my first kill today.

Edited to add in more information from 2nd character and a character on another account. All subsequent attempts resulted in only gold (5 repeated attempts)

So, I think it's safe to say that this toy will only drop on your first kill of the day when the quest query returns as false. Otherwise, he acts like any other silver, rare elite in Draenor or elsewhere and can only be looted once per day. The gold is simply coming from the assorted trash surrounding him.

After reset, I tried again on the two toons I had parked there. Here is the screenshot I took when I first logged on before killing Warleader Tome http://i68.tinypic.com/29530wj.jpg. Here is the screenshot I took after running the script again after killing him ]http://i67.tinypic.com/ixt847.jpg As you can see, it says false once again before killing him and true after killing him. Which goes to prove that I'm flagged as having killed that NPC for the day. Further killing of him will result in no benefit to me whatsoever. Furthermore on the other toon, I did loot the toy on the first kill of the day, proving my point that it has to be the first kill of the day that you receive loot from him. You CANNOT receive loot from him that day in subsequent kills.

Seems nerfed or bugged in Patch 8.1 so that we can't get on mounts after transition / using this toy.

Can confirm you can only get a chance for the toy once a day due to the quest flag.

As of 8.2 you can once again mount with this toy.
