I just defeated my first trainer in the WoD Beta and these charms are just items and not a currency.
At least these stack up to 200 so you do not end up with several stacks in your bags that easily while beeing out in the world.

I hope they change the item to "currency" and add more stuff to the store, currently all dresses are for the perky pug only but it would be great if other pets also could use costumes and make some simple costumes that fit all such as astral/ghost etc. but it would also be great to have some distant end game pets you can work towards and only the best and most persistent trainers can get to.

Just received 4 pet charms from defeating Ashlei in Shadowmoon Valley. She has a fey dragonling, plushy elekk, and a tiny talbuk. Easily defeated with mechanical pets. Will have to check to see if she is repeatable everyday or week.

Unlike the tamers from Mists of Pandaria, you do not need to wait until you can defeat every individual tamer before you unlock the dailies. The initial quests you receive from the tamers are already dailies and can be repeated as you progress through Draenor. This means that you can amass Talismano delle Mascotte Scintillante up until you finally unlock Serraglio Livello 1 for your garrison at level 100!

The vendor who accepts this item as currency is Lio la Leonessa (A) or Serr'ah (H).

These NPCs do not appear until you reach Garrison Level 2. They will be next to your Serraglio Livello 1 plot.

Its downright crazy there are no pets for purchase from this currency, like the celestial coins from the tournament last xpac. At this point in time, I have little use for battlestones and therefore I have little reason to collect these other than the achievement. When considering using these trainers to carry low level pets, Pandaria is still a better option as you can fly and get through them faster with the 1 hour bonuses. It would be really nice to have 4 or 5 pets purchasable at around 250 charms if you ask me.

When I was new to pet battling during MOP, I was not smart enough to collect only rare quality pets. There is nothing really worth buying from the vendor in my personal opinion aside from the Flawless Battlestones.
If you do all WOD pet battle daily, that would give you 32 tokens each day that would allow you to upgrade 2 pets per day to rare. :)
(4 tokens per zones (6) plus the 8 tokens you get from the pet daily in your Garrison)

Please, Blizz, for the love of pet battlers everywhere...MAKE PET CHARMS INTO CURRENCY! And make better stuff (i.e. pets) for us to buy with them!

I have a TON of these charms taking up my bag space and I don't want to buy any silly costumes for my Pug. I don't need battle stones, and I don't need any useless one-level boost stones. It takes me less time to boost a pet one level than it does to buy the stone and apply it to a pet. These silly things are just taking up even more precious bag space! Come oooonnnn...where's the common sense?

Btw, I am seriously annoying how most battle pet things are account bound, except a few items such as Pietra Evolutiva Rara Notevole is account bound, but Pietra Evolutiva Perfetta isn't. REALLY huge pain in *** as I now have to log onto my 10 different chars in order to level a battle pet with them >.< MAKE THE ACCOUNT BOUND, BLIZZARD! Be consistant!

What Pet Charms are used for:
15 = Rare quality upgrade, any pet type
10 = 50% increased pet xp gain treat, 1hr
5 = 25% increased pet xp gain treat, 1hr
3 = 1 level granting stone, any pet type
400 = 4 new pets total cost
650 = 3 new toys total cost
Pet Charms, and these rewards, are all bind on account/account wide items.

Completionists:
Easy to unlock menagerie on 100 alts with level 3 garrison: 2 frogs starting with cleansing rain then spamming kiss can solo or two man all three critters in the menagerie intro quest, Pets vs Pests. Takes <5 minutes, no cost. Pre-quest gives you an Ultimate Stone for a free level 25.

Level 1 & 2 Pet Menageries' daily quests all grant the same 8 Pet Charms per day. The level 3 Pet Menagerie's daily replaces the old one, granting a bag with a chance for pets and a few random pet type-specific upgrade stones PLUS 8-10 Pet Charms instead of guaranteed 8. Cost is 2800g+150GR for a level 3 Pet Menagerie, selling the pets will probably offset the cost partially. The pet drop chance is character specific: once a character has all those pets they will never see them drop again, but alts may see them.

TLDR Use alts to farm Pet Charms faster. Upgrade to level 3 Menagerie to farm faster.

So if I'm mathing this correctly - you should get 62 charms if you do every pet battle legendary/tamer in Draenor since 6.2

....And you can do them on multiple toons.

So if you're just starting the grind to get the new pets/toys and you're only doing it on one character, it'll take 17 days.

The pet charm rewards from Warlords content will be significantly reduced in Legion, as stated by WarcraftDevs on Twitter.

Unless they will reduce the price of items sold for Talismano delle Mascotte Scintillante, I guess it's time to farm it, either for missing toys or for Talismani delle Mascotte Scintillanti.

Hi ! I was on Legion Beta today and I was in Dalaran (the new, on broken isles), and I was in the Magical Menagerie. Here I saw these charms could be still useful to buy others pets (currently 6) and 1 new toy. However, by the release of Legion, it will maybe have changed and it will be can other charms relative to Legion... Don't know, here a screenshot to show you what I want to say (really sorry for my english, it's not my main language...)

As of Legion (and the prepatch), these charms are now also rewarded from winnings in pet PvP battles.

Am I the only one upset about this change from 4 charms to 2 charms? Blizzard basically cut our minimum wage in half. The battles are still as difficult as before. But we are all of a sudden "rewarded" with half our wage?

Not even to mention the "Howl-Bomb" strategy. Blizzard says "This is too powerful. We must change this.".... blah blah blah...Something to that effect. Please do not quote me on this.

Heaven forbid we Pet Tamers have an Ace up our damned sleeve.

But to cut our rewards from the same damned daily pet battles really pisses me off. Has there been any valid reason given as to why they decided to reduce our wages? This damn #$%^ is hard enough as is it is.

In the zone Azsuna you will be able to get a toy that gives you a pet charm quest. It summons a npc with the quest.
The toy is called Registro dei Combattenti di Asprofato. It only works in Azsuna and has a weekly reset timer (the quest not the toy). The quest rewards you with 4 Talismano delle Mascotte Scintillantes
The toy is in a treasure chest at 49, 45. A Naga called Slavehunter Zsanesh is guarding it, but with me being level 107 he only had around 700k hp so he is easily killable. (Pretty much all mobs in Legion scales to your level)

New way to farm Talismano delle Mascotte Scintillante was added in 7.1.5.
It is a new shoulder enchant Dono dell'Animalista. With it enchanted Mucchio di Beni per Mascotte start to drop. You can buy this enchant from Draemus for 200g.
Mucchio di Beni per Mascotte can contain some Talismano delle Mascotte Scintillante, pet stones, pet exp food and other pet related items.

Word to the wise, on Pet Charms -- they seem to be capped at 1000. I have been letting them stack (forever) since I get a decent income from the Zookeeper shoulder enchant random bag drops and the various world quests and garrison daily/weekly's. I was in the middle of doing today's weekly and noticed that my stack was at an oddly even (?) amount, 1000. I did the 4th of 5 WoD trainers and, yikes, still at 1000. So, send them to an alt, or buy some of the pets in (Legion) Dalaran before you cap out like I did.

In BFA these will be a little less useful - they will not be able to purchase the powerup/consumable items like Pietra Evolutiva Definitiva, Pietra Evolutiva Rara Notevole, Integratore etc - these will require the new currency Talismano delle Mascotte Lucidato.
If you want Pietra Evolutiva Definitiva & Pietra Evolutiva Rara Notevole cheap then spend your old charms now.

Whilst Talismano delle Mascotte Scintillante is not going away, it will only be able to purchase items from pre-BFA like pets and toys.

New Vendor Pets introduced in BFA will require Talismano delle Mascotte Lucidato
Pet powerups/consumables will require Talismano delle Mascotte Lucidato and may have their costs increased.

Absolutely f'ckin ridiculous. Blizz does it again. Makes us spend hundreds of real life hours accumulating 'tokens' of some description, only to make them absolutely useless in the future. I have hundreds and hundreds of these, accumulated over many characters.

Having already purchased all of the available pets, they were ideal to trade in for Integratore Inferiore and Integratore and then use low lvl alts to level up my newly captured/earned pets while getting XP at the same time.

Now I need Talismano delle Mascotte Lucidato for the same thing and my Talismano delle Mascotte Scintillante are pretty much useless to me now.

How many hours of my life is that, that I'm never going to get back?

The people who want the charms to be currency aren't thinking of just how many of us it would hurt when they STOPPED being BOA.

I'd much rather *EVERY* currency was a bag-space taking-up item if I could shift them around all 50 of my toons whenever I wanted.

What we REALLY need is an "account bank" that only holds Bind on Account items.

But not gold, because if your gold was account-wide it would hurt the economy of various servers. But, everything else would be nice.

♥ Here is how I got 900 charms in two days! ♥

You can get multiple Pile of Pet Goodies to drop from adds you kill in Legion's Broken Isles. I have gotten 2~4 Pile of Pet Goodies per enchant cooldown, which contains anywhere from 6~10 Shiny Pet Charms per bag. That means I've gotten upwards for 40 charms per toon per enchant cooldown. Multiply that by at least 4 looting sessions a day on that single toon, which can be upwards of 160 charms in one day PER TOON. Yes, you read that right! If you are obsessive enough, you TOO can be a crazy pet lady.

TIPS FOR MY FARMING METHOD (read entirely):

Works best at level 120.
Works best for mobile characters, or those good with AoE (I use all my 120s anyway).
Works ONLY on the Broken Isles. Broken Shore will not work.
Will take trial and error on the timing. Get a feel for your path!
Rarely, RNG will screw you and you won't get ANY piles to drop. Recommended: Let everything full respawn and try again.
There is a speculated internal cooldown on this Enchant. I have tested it out and I start getting loot again after an hour or two.
Once you loot one pile, killing adds afterwards won't drop more piles. That is why you want to kill lots of stuff at once so you can potentially loot 2 or more piles. Basically, once you finish looting all the pretty glittery stuff, you will want to swap to another toon with the enchant or wait an hour or two then start again.

Now for the process!

First, get yourself the Zookeper shoulder enchant sold in Dalaran.
Next, head over to Aszuna. You are looking for a shore of murlocs, near the cave Gangamesh is in.
(hard part) You want to kill down the shore without looting! Focus the bigger groups of murlocs/adds and try to save time by not killing far away solo mobs. This is about speed and efficiency so you can loot before despawns start happening, and it will take time getting used to. You don't HAVE to full clear, but if you can do it, nice work.
(easy part) START LOOTING! :D Start at the first mobs you killed first. Remember, be quick before they despawn!
You should hopefully get 2+ piles from looting. Good luck!

I found it to be a great addition to charm farming pet battles/WQs, if you're dedicated/patient enough to do it. This is also most beneficial to people who have lots of alts (like me!) and just enjoy farming.
Hopefully this helps someone like me who really wants that 1k charm Narcissa's Mirror.

I thought getting 1000 of these would take ages to get, but turns out it didn't take long at all.
Get an addon like world quest list and keep an eye on the world quests in broken isles. It seems to be rng if pet charms are awarded or if it's something else, not sure what the chances are but the 3 days I did them for 3 quests were awarding them, for a total of 51 charms per char. I have 6 chars at lvl 45+ so that was 306 charms per day.

Get the Rematch addon that lets you save pet teams for a target, wow-petguide.com usually has multiple teams for any target you'd want that you can import from there, and almost always has a TDScript associated with so that you can just mass one "Automate" button if you got the addon and it does the strat for you. Doing a round of quests didn't take more than 10 min for me this way.

If your alt hasn't unlocked legion zones / world quests here's what's needed:
1) lvl 45 + character
2) Complete Uniting the Isles (doesn't require rep on your alt, not sure if you have to meet the rep on a main or not for this to be true, but comments seem to indicate no)
3) Complete Armies of Legionfall and Assault on Broken Shore.
Sometimes a quest rewarding charms will be on argus, you can unlock access to argus really quickly as well:
Complete The Hand of Fate quest chain ending with Into The Night, now you can use the teleporter pad to get to your quest location.

Any recommendations what to do with them? Buy certain pets, cage them and sell them on the AH? Are they tradable?

I think they may have nerfed this or something has changed.

I have my level 48 druid here. It was going great, I was getting piles of pet goodies drops, and greens and gold and exp.

Then last week, my druid hit 50. Now the piles of pet goodies are refusing to drop.

So I brought another toon over and gave him the shoulder enchant. Still nothing.

Can someone verify that the farming method works ?

If you're like me and just now bothering to collect these - the Legion world quests (outside of Dalaran) are PER CHARACTER!
I just assumed they were account-wide dailies based on how a lot of the pet stuff has worked previously.

So grab your alt army (lvl 45+ to unlock Legion WQs) and farm these up rather quickly. :)
