anyone know where to get this thing, more or less BiS for Glad warriors given our fondness for BA and crit (before raids start that is).

I can confirm that this is obtained from a iLvl 630 FOLLOWER mission - Caccia aperta - which awards a Monile Grandioso which is then used to create this. I was in Guardian spec (Bear) on my Druid when I got the mission, and when I clicked/created it from the Monile Grandioso.

I was surprised to see a player iLvl 645 item in a follower 630 mission, and luck of all luck, I completed the follower mission with a low (59% or so) success chance. I just didn't have enough double- and triple-counter followers for it, so I just did it after seeing it in the list for a few days. Of course, I immediately failed an 87% success mission afterward, but I was more than satisfied with the trinket!

For what it's worth, I've never seen this quest show up on any of my "non-tank" characters - but that could be unrelated.

Opening up a Grandiose Trinket in Protection loot specialization yielded this item.

Obvious statement but if you're like me and want to be 100% sure before opening an item that it will have the right stats, it's some confirmation.
