Just used one of these as an Assassination rogue and got a mace :( Putting in a ticket now to see if Blizzard will hopefully fix it because it says an item appropriate for your loot specialization and you can't even use a mace as my spec.

I got this on my WW monk and received a Waforged(651) Pole arm and I am so disappointed. Still happy I got anything; don't get me wrong, but it's indisputable that WWs should be dual-wielding. I submitted a ticket to see if it can get changed but I doubt it. I'll have to be happy with my above average sub par weapon.

I also got a mace on my assassination speced rogue. I got this reply from a GM:

The reasoning behind you not getting a dagger (not saying it makes sense) is that you get a weapon you can equip and which has stats that are usable for your spec. This may result in maces for assassination rogues or not-shield offhand items for shamans.
For this reason we are not allowed to ever swap loot for other loot.

So I'll say that the tooltip isn't accurate, and hopefully they're going to correct this.

I received an ilvl 651 Warforged bow. Grandiose Longbow of the Deft. So, you can received better than ilvl 645 gear from these!

Got 2 of these, both times i was Frost (DK) and currently had two 1h weapons equipped,... got 2h axe out of both armaments. Really wish it would give 1h for the only DK spec that is supposed to (and able to) DW

As a fury warrior with protection as secondary spec, I don't have access to arms. So how am I gonna recieve a two-handed weapon from this?

Shouldn't the system be able to detect that I currently equip 2 two-handed weapons? Somewhat disappointing...

I used it today as a Fury Warrior, I wanted a 1h so I equipped my 1h weapons and it created Ascia Grandiosa, dunno if it was luck or it depends or what you have equipped

Had two of these now as a fury warrior and I have received a 1h each time. Just seems to be random.

My fury warrior had two of these that produced one-handed weapons both times. Upon gaining the third, I changed my loot spec to Arms which is a two handed spec, and it produced Grandiose Greataxe of the Quickblade. I am not even dual spec'd. Wish I had thought of this sooner.

3/3 Staff dropping on a resto Shammie instead of the mace.

Think of these as the loot tables in raids, you may get a drop, but it may not be ideal for your spec, Blizz have never devised a system where you absolutely got what you need the first time (unless you're lucky).

Does anyone know if your active spec has anything to do with the loot given to you?

P.S. I had bought a 665 shield on the AH as a 100 gift to myself so the staff is useless...
