You can get this without using the meat to trick the Gnoll.
Just go to the back and you can jump inside trough the destroyed corner.

Not true.

I am a lvl 48 rogue. I jumped repeatedly in the very southeast corner of the ruins. I went right over the wall.

No sweat and no fuss.

This can be picked up without having the quest, as long as you can get in without the bait.

The area with the evoroot can be found at coords: 44,10 Feralas.
If you are mage, you can simply blink your way in. If you are not, you need to use the bait that you get from the quest; http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=4041

ZOMG... Just buy the bait(20s) from Gregan Brewspewer @ 45,26 in Feralas and you're DONE in like 10 seconds. There is NO point in jumping around on the the corners of walls to do this quest.

If you're a hunter and jumping over the ledge is a bit too hard for you XD, disengage makes it much easier, pull a mob, I pulled a sprite dragon and climbed onto the rock/log and set my character's back towards the cracked wall and use disengage, then it's homefree from there ^^ oh and feel free to kill the mob you pulled coz it'll go through the wall and continue bashing you
