Managed to solo him as lvl69 feral druid. He breaks off into adds when getting to certain percent levels, I killed on or two of these and 'nuked' him down. Immune to maim, but not stun. At least adds are not immune to roots, unsure about him.

He can be easily kited as an hunter. He is immune to conc. shot and frost trap, but serpent sting works. He summoned some shardlings but they somehow disappeared. Make sure you pull him to the road. Then you just run like hell with no mobs on the way.

Solo'd as a 70 sword rogue. Just blew all my cooldowns and burned him down. Vanished after he died, and his adds disappeared.

Keep in mind as his health goes down he starts to shrink, and becomes a lot weaker, doesnt hit as hard, loses armor, etc.

After about 50% damage he becomes about as powerful as a non-elite mob.

Quite doable as 19/21/21 warlock. Put voidwalker on him with all your dots and just flat out nuke after that. You'll get aggro but that's no biggie, he doesn't hit that hard anymore. Keep nuking, nuke him down. Try to tank the adds a bit with the VW. Sac the VW when he is about to die and run off. If still in trouble use Fel Domination and bake a new one. Run back, loot, done!

Solo'ed as a 70 Prot warrior, not too difficult. Just kept sunders, demo shout, and thunderclap up on him and ignored the adds till he was dead. No cooldowns used, thought about using a potion but didn't need to.

Easy solo as a 70 elemental shaman. Earth elemental can tank it well, AoE taunting the adds. Thankfully, not immune to nature.

Definitely soloable at lvl 70, even my holy priest managed to kill apex (althought was killed by adds)
As a side note, his adds are fearable.

soloed as 70 frost mage, just run+blink kited him along the road, spamming fireblast and anoccasional frostbolt when my blink cd was up. used a swiftnes pot, but coud have done perfectly without one.

If you're worried about soloing him, try heading back to Hellfire Peninsula and practice on a Raging Colossus (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=19188). They work the same way (same attacks, shrinkage, spawns, fear immune/susceptible) but they're 4-5 levels easier.

Really easy to solo as a 70 fire mage. Just kited him along the path using instants and blink. I didn't get hit, and his adds didn't even try to attack me.

The way the dots are displayed on the map is evidence to the number of times he's been kited to death.

On a hunter, this is a trivial battle, since he doesn't run as fast as you do with Aspect of the Cheetah on.

If your class is unable to kite, be prepared for a difficult battle - he hits hard and spawns non-elite adds throughout the fight. Bring a tank and a healer.

He is susceptible to stun but immune to roots and snares, so paladins and druids should be able to get off at least one heal during the fight.

Got to him at 50, 66 using a '/target apex' macro.

I'm a feral druid, so took out the tanking gear, and soloed him and his adds without dropping below 70% health. Took me 2 minutes.

You don't have to have any special abilities per se. He hits for around 800 on cloth, but cloth have extra abilities to compensate.

Tactic: Beat him. When he shrinks, tab to the add and kill it. Refocus on Apex. Adds don't despawn on his death so make sure they're dead.

Same tactic applies to Cragg for a different quest

People are saying how he can't keep up with aspect of the cheetah on... this isn't true. Aslong as you run in a straight line he can't keep up with you. I'm a shadow priest and I just doted him up and kitted with Vamp Embrace on while chaining SW:P and SW:D. He never once caught up to me and he actually evaded on me twice.

as a side note... don't run to the echo dome he will glitch.

Soloed easy as shaman 60 enhancement. Use ur earth ele to get the dmg off u and heal him when needed. managed to kill one add but then i figured that i should start running, so i didnt.

Very easy to solo as a 70 shadow priest. Was even able to kill his adds. DPS till he has two adds then fear the adds and finish him off. Seemed to work well that way.

Easily soloable by a lvl 70 sword rogue. Use whatever trinket cooldowns you have early in the fight, but save blade flurry, adrenaline rush, and evasion for when the first add pops. I suggest also using a 5 point slice and dice before the first add pops (if you dont bring him to 75% before that) since it will last just about until when he dies. Oh, and on a side note, i used a revered netherwing trinket at the start of the fight, and he was still helping by the time he died and i switched to the rest of the adds. Happy hunting!

He summons adds at 75%, 50%, and 25%. If he is stunned during the transition (75% to 74%, etc.) he will not summon the add. As a rogue you should be able to use a kidney shot at 75% and 25% to restrict him to only one add. Worked for me.

Downed him no problem as a generic combat rogue. Popped adrush early on, saved evasion for when he de-stunned and just burned him down. Bladeflurried at 75%. Didn't even have to vanish, dropped all the adds with 1500 left.

easily soloable as protection warrior, just tank it to death. Finished him down with 45% health, then proceeded to kill adds, no problem at all. Full blue gear with less than 12k hp with commanding shout.

I just soloed as a lvl 69 Demo lock, 0/42/18.
I sent in felguard and had him chopping Apex like a butcher, kept Health Funnel up at all times and stopped every now and then to recast CoA, Corruption, and Immolate.
As soon as he summoned his second rumbler I used Soulshatter to delay aggroing the first one.
When the first Apex Rumbler was beating me down to a fairly low health I used a master healthstone.
Felguard finished him off... but was beaten up by the rumblers... What mean boys... I blame Apex for teaching them this kind of violence lol.

Kite? Aspect of the Cheetah? This bloke is just laughable! Sent my cat in (notice the lack of tanking pet) and kept Mend Pet up, and blew him to pieces. Ignored the adds completely, and my pet was never below 80% HP.

For those of you looking for him he generally pats at the Vortex Fields 54,68. You will see some Apex Crumblers, Wind Serpents and Warp Stalkers also in this area.

Solo'd as 70 Arms/Fury Warrior 11khp.. Just stay in Battle Stance, use Demo Shout, T, Clap, and then proceed to drop him! Once he breaks into the 3 adds, using piercing howl and them fear them away and continue beating on him.

This q is offending me as a feral drood....blizz makes everything too easy and boring.
Must be the 6th or 7th quest involving breaking down an elemental into smaller bits...starting with the 2 ones in hellfire peninsula, Netherock, the 4 shards and the followup....so i think you had to kill about 20 or more of these.
Bear - mangle and swipe all the way through, after killing first spawn, bash and heal and repeat.

Managed to take him down as a 68 Balance druid with lvl 64-ish gear. just pop Fearie Fire and Force of Nature, wait until that's done to use Moonfire and insect swarm, pop two lifebloom and a rejuv if you wear mostly cloth and use travel form to escape the thunderclap and adds as you heal. Just run circles around the guy until the DoT's wear out, put em up again.Rinse repaat.You will have to use Innervate but a mna potion or two wouldn;t hurt. I had to run from the adds in the end but a properly geared Druid should be able to solo him just fine.

This guy is easy for anyone with speed effecting moves. Druids can handle him by attacking, use travel form for distance heal, repeat. I'm not sure but I think it's effected by poisons , Hamstring and magic restraints so really this is just a warm up for the Netherock fight.

Soloed as a 70 destro lock using voidwalker, just give void enough sunders by the use of torment also use curse of weakness to reduce dmg I just used death coil since it's minimal dps and void won't loose agroo, and kept healing void. Fight lasted about 3-4mins very easy.

Soloed as a 69 fire mage. Not easy, but I got it after a few tries. Had to use a potion, a mana gem and an elixer. Trick is to never stand still for long, that slow debuff from his thunderclap makes it really tough to avoid the adds.

To all rogues: He is definitely stun-and blindable, so anyone looking to take him on alone can just Kidney Shot him to lower the damage taken; combine that with a bandage heal (make sure he has no adds) and you've got yourself an easy solo.

Stun him before 75%, 50%, 25% and the small add won't spawn, but he won't shrink either (don't know if that has an impact on his damage).

Manageable by a 69 Feral Druid, but I had to shift out to heal a few times. And he walks around west of manaforge doro between warp stalkers.

Rogue 70, spec is HARP Swords as of this writing. Long story short, I just burned him down with 1445 unbuffed AP, 17% crit, solo. Nothing spectacular on the stats; however, I did not need to use stun or bandage whatsoever. The only potion I used was an Onslaught elixir before hand, only because I'm an alchemist/herbalist (else I would have saved it), so they are easy for me to make. The key for me was adrenaline rush, evasion/ghostly strike, prep, evasion. I kept S&D up all the time, used blade flurry when he split into 3. If you're using a Mutilate build, yes, use Kidney Shot. If you're using a Shadow Step build, yes, use Kidney Shot. If you're using a pure combat build, yes, use Kidney Shot. For me, I did not need a stun at all with my ability lineup and play style. Giving someone a negative rating because they did not mention stuns in their comment isn't right at all. To each his own.

Honestly, this guy was cake. I just popped bestial wrath, rapid fire and AP trinket. He went down pretty fast, but a tip for you BM hunters out there
- Keep mend pet up at all times
- The adds can be frozen, so lay a freezing trap and aggro one.

As a 70 fury warrior with 1250 AP, 140 hit, and 23% crit, I just barely managed to solo him.

I fought him like a regular mob until he started spawning adds. At that point, I popped recklessness & sweeping strikes. The extra victory rushes really helped.

I died to the leftover adds.

Soloed pretty easily as a 68 resto druid. Bear formed the entire time, when first add spawned, focused on him until it died, then went back to Apex. Used bash between 50 and 49%, and 25 and 24%, and no more spawned, so that worked well. Not too difficult without adds.

Soloed as a 68 Resto Shammy. Used Fire Elemental Totem when he started breaking off into adds. I got pretty screwed with mana around the end so I just stood tanking him with Water Shield/Healing while my Fire Elemental raped his little spawns.

Sole'ed as a lvl 68 blood DK, superiorly easy, i finished him off and his minions with full health, he only hits for around 200-400 on plate and its about 3 seconds per attack so being blood i had a good amount of time to get that health healed.

I recommend attacking him until his little spawns show up kill them, if you have any dots/bleeds on him more will spawn and he'll keep on loosing health. If you can, keep dots/bleeds on him.

Three spawn kill them all then finish him off.

He respawns exactly at 51.85, 70.40.

He takes between 2 minutes 20 seconds to 3 minutes to respawn (I used a stopwatch). But sometimes 4 min.

Also, my guess is that Apex' name indicates that this giant might just be 1 gigantic Apexis Crystal.

Apex takes approximates 2 Minutes and 45 Seconds to respawn after Apex himself has been killed. The timer starts on Apex's death, not when you kill his crumblings.
