Is this the choice darkmoon trinket for offensive casters?
The equip certainly is fairly decent, but 5 minute CD on use makes it less then stellar, and 400 damage absorb? It's a bit underwhelming compared to the 90 stat + 300 stat darkmoon trinket - http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=13326 (it's very good for meele at least).

where do you get these cards. I've been looking all over, they only say quest item, but what quest, or what mobs do they come from?

The damage absorb part is almost irrelevant, as it says "by any means" - so you simply cancel the buff for the mana regen.

That effectively means this trinket becomes an extra 240 mana per minute, or to give it a simplified WoW stat - 20 mana per five seconds.

If this trinket was:

Spell Power +100
Mp5 +20

- with a passive absorb effect every 5 minutes, then nobody would be complaining about it.

It's a very decent trinket for casters and healers alike. There's better, but for casual players its very very good.

Fact check, Epic Inscription Decks (assuming the buyout cost on wowhead matches local AH costs)

There are 8 cards to make a deck (Ace-8)

There are 4 decks that can be created with the same recipe, so your odds of making a specific card are 1/32. (8 cards * 4 decks)

The rewards:
- Greatness - Intellect Spirit Strength Agility (You can choose which you get.)
- Illusion
- Death
- Berserker!

Assuming you have astronomically good luck and you make all 8 of the desired cards on the first try you’d need either:

- Farm 60 stacks of high level herbs and 24 Eternal Lifes
or
- 3800 Gold to buy reagents

Assuming you have above average luck…

- Farm 240 stacks of high level herbs and 96 Eternal Lifes
or
- 15000+ Gold to buy reagents

- You’re probably going to spend double that though

- Assuming you just buyout the cards on the AH: 11350 Gold
