I am honestly surprised at this bag. A whole other four slots....amazing, truely amzing. Anyways, they just couldn't make Soul Shards stack...This is the bag that all raiding warlocks are going to want to have. 32-slots means 32 soul shards are being kept for neccesary skills.

soul bags are a bigger waste of space than the shards themselves. get yourself a useful mod like shardmax and let it manage how many shards are on you at one time, carry 22 slot bags on you and carry as much loot as you need.

if you always use drain soul when killing mobs it's hardly like you'll run out of shards. farming them is not an issue.

i just got the pattern to make this soulbag the other day for my warlock. I have started to make it, and i must say that the cooldown for the mats are way too long! i want my soul bag now. not in a weeks time. Plus i dnt want to buy the mats off auction house, cause on my realm they are expensive as. :)

One step closer to wow being played for us rather than by us.

I was a hunter before I was a warlock, (and nearly every one of my toons carries a profession bag of some sort anyway) so the absence of a little bag space has never been a big problem for me.

Seroiusly, it isn't that hard to tap the spell right before something dies. You are going to miss once in a while, yes, but hey, everyone makes mistakes. It's not something to get your tights in a twist about. It's certainly doable in pvp and as long as you aren't spamming Soul Fire, you shouldn't have too big of a problem in low-trash raids, either.

Edit: Just an example of a situation that would actually be worth complaining about:

When learning a new boss in raiding, you don't usually get a chance to farm more shards as you're wiping on the same guy for an hour. A new pet and soulwell every time you wipe, an extra healthstone for yourself if the fight is longer than the cooldown... it adds up. I went from 28 shards to 8 the first time my guild downed Netherspite.

More shards are always a good thing, as no arena team or raid wants to wait while you go farm more. My gladiator friend never has more than one or two shards after an hour of arena, and frequently has to ask the team to wait a few minutes while he goes and kills some spiders outside Shat.

So I made this bag, and currently used. And I've come to the conclusion that no matter what, soul shard bags are STUPID. Here is why:

If you are raiding or grinding out in the world, the longer you fight the LESS shards you have, but the MORE garbage you get. You get cloth, leather, enchant mats, etc. etc. But you carry less and less shards as time progresses.

With a regular bag, the previous shard space becomes free space to fill with crap to sell. But with a shard bag, that previously used space becomes DEAD space.

Now you may say "well I get 32 shards, whereas I'd only get 20 or so with the other bags". But here's the key: you empty your bags before grinding or a raid and you fill all the empty space with... SHARDS. Rather than let empty space go empty.

I was hoping they would fix shards in 3.1, but they aren't making them stack. So it looks like soul bags will be around to fool people into paying the excessive cost for them.

I was wondering would a level 1 Warlock be able to use these bags since they're only BoE.

Any ideas? My server has none of these bags going up on the auction house.

As of Patch 4.0.1, this Soul Bag has been converted to a normal 22-slot bag due to removal of Soul Shards as inventory objects.

If you still have the Wrath resources in your bank(s), this recipe is a great way to get a few easy skill-up points in Tailoring. Plus, you have something desirable to sell afterward. ;)

Actually a great bag to look at crafting at 85 - primals are very under farmed on most servers nowadays, 22 slots is relevant, and while you can probably make more gold per minute farming something else, if you're looking for easy 'huge' bags, they're a great way to go.

I don't see this mentioned as of yet (although there is something similar posted on the Embersilk Bag page), but these are worth looking at vs. Embersilk Bags in terms of cost to make. Of course it varies per server, but on the 3 servers I play on, the price of embersilk cloth is regularly 200-300% the cost of frostweave cloth. If you have an enchanter at your disposal, the cost of infinite dust is minimal using abyssal shards with Abyssal Shatter, and the eternals are quickly farmed with an engineer using the mote extractor (if eternals are overpriced on the AH, as they commonly are in the current expansion). In the end, the deciding factor will usually be the value of the eternals/dust compared to the difference in price vs the two types of cloth. Hypnotic dust isn't worth factoring into the equation in most cases, as the cost & quantity needed for the embersilk bags is so minimal (in my experience, it equates to less than 5% of the total material cost for embersilk bags).

tldr: In the 3 servers I play on, it costs me less to make these than it does to make embersilk bags.
