This is an upgrade from Skyfire . It has 11 more Crit, and half the gem requirements, but still only 1% spell reflect...really Blizz? Not even 2%? I currently have the Destructive Skyfire Diamond equipped. I love the high crit, but the spell reflect is once in a blue moon.

The recipe for this is an extremely rare world drop.

The gem has value because it grants more crit rating than any other gem in the game. Other gems that give crit have 21 crit rating, 21 agility, or 21 intellect. However, those gems also grant 3% bonus damage or healing on crits, or they grant mana.

The spell reflect...well, it works only rarely, but if it does that when a mage lands a pyroblast on you, it will win your arena.

Given the other choices, this gem is not very popular.

For any holy paladin seeking to get this gem. I'd advise against it because the +chance to restore mana is just so much better than the extra +4 crit rating. Although the spell reflect is super awesome, 600 mana on a much better proc rate is much better (But ugh internal cooldown).

well for me this gem is the best choice for pvp and in some cases PvE

when i see the white letters "Reflect" it makes it ALL good lol comment above is true internal CD sucks....

I love this gem on my PvP prot war, coupled with my passive spell miss from my talents, and my Spell Reflect ability. Nothings funnier then reflecting HoJ :P

For my 80 warrior, RatingBuster addon indicates:
+25 Critical Strike Rating is +0.54% chance to crit.
+21 Agility is +0.34% chance to crit.

Consider this information when deciding between this meta and the Relentless Earthsiege Diamond

I've been out of the game for awhile. Does the 1% spell reflect refer to the proc rate, or that 1% of all spell dmg is reflected?

its referring to the proc rate. i have a DK and I rock this for pvp. I don't prefer crit to AP but the 1% spell reflect can win you some games. I've reflected fear, sheep, chains of ice, lots of good stuff. It really confuses them when it happens too ^-^

Can the spell reflect happen against raid bosses? I know they're immune to some effects like stun, etc., so I was wondering if they're immune to having their own spells reflected back at them.

Well you can reflect Phantom blast of the Devourer of souls on forge of souls
also works with Shadow blast the annoying skill of the Ahn'kahar Spell Flinger mobs on AN
