When I saw that they finally added a totem weapon after all this time I was very excited as a Tauren Survival Hunter main until I saw its a 2 handed mace. Would be nice if they added a staff for us Survival Hunters and a 1 handed model for Tauren Enhancement Shamans / Dual Wielding Frost Dk's.

I've been maining a Tauren Hunter since Vanilla and been wanting a weapon like this since I first saw one so would be nice if they could make a staff/1 handed version as well.

I can confirm that despite the item being listed as "Main Hand", this is in fact a 2 Handed Mace. I acquired it from the final quest on a level 70 Highmountain Tauren Warrior, but my friend playing a Tauren Hunter did not receive it.

We have both done our individual Heritage quests on those characters, and both got Renown 21 with the Maruuk Centaur, so I have to assume I only got the weapon because I was able to equip 2H maces as a Warrior.

I managed to get the weapon today, 22/03/23, on my Tauren Paladin. I'm exalted with Thunderbluff, renown 17 on Paladin (but max on Hunter, haven't done quest on hunter though). I also chose to participate in the funeral ritual if that changes anything.

I am using it as a 2H mace currently.

I did NOT receive this item on my Tauren hunter, though I did get the back piece. He is exalted with Thunder Bluff, is the character I used to get the Tauren heritage armor, but is not renown 25 with the centaur. My main character is at renown 25, though.

Maybe the extra requirement is simply that the class needs to be able to use maces? Hunters can't. Wondering if there are any other Tauren hunters out there who were able to receive this piece.

Update: Redid the questline on my Highmountain Tauren druid, who is not capped on any reputation or renown, and got the weapon transmog. So it's almost certainly a weapon proficiency thing.

For such an iconic racial weapon going back to WC3, it should be available to t-mog for all tauren. I'm not here to complain though, but to hopefully give some useful info to my fellow hooved friends.

Only tauren and high mountain tauren who can wield 2 hand maces can get this as a reward. For everyone else who isn't a tauren -- or for tauren who can't use 2 handed maces, like hunters -- you get a toy only.

Rep with Thunder Bluff or renown with Maruuk centaur doesn't seem to matter to get this totem as a reward on your tauren. Completing the heritage armor questline doesn't seem to be a pre-requisite either. Simply being a tauren and finishing the Baine questline seems to be enough to be given the totem as a reward at the end.

It is classified as a main hand weapon so fury warriors can not dual wield it. The totem shows up under 2 handed maces in the t-mog appearances window.

It appears only tauren ret paladins, arms warriors and fury warriors (only in the main hand), death knights, druids, and elemental shamans can use this at the time of writing this.

I hope this changes and Blizzard takes pity on all tauren players who would like to use this item. A 1 handed version should be added, and a staff version as well. It is just so iconic and cool.

Baine's quest chain made me want to race change my DK back to the Tauren it once was. But now I have a problem of not being able to get this or the back piece transmogs.

I got the heritage quest done on an alt originally but it's now done on my main so, it may just take time for information to go through but be warned, if you want to go Tauren on your main to get the rewards, race change and do anything else before you finish the quests! Currently waiting on a ticket response about this one. My own fault for ever changing from Tauren in the first place =P

I'm assuming you have to be level 70 to start this quest line. It certainly doesn't show up at 60 when you go to Valdrakken.

I have completed the related quest for this with my Tauren Druid, technically zero problems, no stucks or bugs and I got all the rewards with this 2h mace look.

But sadly, when I switched back to my Tauren Fury Warrior, I realized you CAN NOT dual-wield this 2h mace look.
It shows when you don't have a totem-like back on your back, like a totem, but only the main-hand. Off-hand can't be mogged or shown.
Sad...

Also, holding part being buried in the back did not look that proper to me, after that iconic Warcraft III hold and the modernized version at the first WoW cinematic intro, this did not do it for me.

Additionally, it's a lot smaller than most of the other iconic weapons and the color themes of neither the totem on the back or this weapon is not fitting with the Tauren Heritage Armor set.

It's a very nice questline, I loved playing it story-wise, but rewards are kind of irrelevant, incomplete and disappointing. As usual...

I just dinged 70 on my Tauren Warrior, with renown 2 on Centaurs and Exalted with Thunderbluff. I imagine it's Tauren/Highmountain only reward, since only they can use it as of item description.

Btw. I sobbed on this questline.

I did NOT receive this item last night on my Tauren Monk. Waiting for official confirmation to see if I need to roll a whole new character just to get this and if Thunder Bluff reputation is needed or not. There seem to be some mixed results here.

Got both 2H mace and back tonight, on my 70 Tauren War (who was boosted to 60 and had exalted with Thunder bluff and renown 1 with centaur peoples.

Lvl 70 Highmountain Tauren Enhancement Shaman (leveld as Orc in 2012, race changed in 2016)

Friendly 5,999/6,000 with Thunderbluff
Exalted 21,000/21,000 with Highmoutain Tribe
Renown 1 with Maruuk Centaur (alt character) (Main 25 Renown) But I think Reputation and Renown doesen't matter.

Questline done on friday 24.03.2023. (3 days after patch 10.0.7. went live)
Before questing wardrobe showed under section "Two-handed mace" as "not collected- quest"
During accepting the quest, reward was shown to be given after completion as -epic quality one-handed mace with no stats.

Finishing the quest it sits in my wardrobe as collected, but only as Two-handed mace. Sadge, as shaman post legion, you're bound to use dual wield single handed weapons, but hey, if I ever wanted to play a warrior I can now!

Bonus: Tauren heritage cloak (Totem) is tilted as " \ " on your back, and this mace also sheaths on your back but as " / " making a cross
Update: The actual cloak comes on top of your weapon, hiding it. Weapon totem stays on your back if you use regular cloaks. Just looks funny, you're wearing a totem on your back, you pull it out in your hand, totem stays on your back and now you have 2

Con: Your character needs to be level 58 to transmog it, so you cannot level your alts 1-58 showing this.

So although rep or heritage doesn't matter and you need to be a class that can equip a 2 handed mace to get this, does the question have to be conpleted on a Tauren? Haven't leveled up my tauren pally to max level yet but wanted to see if i can go ahead and play the quest line on my dwarf shaman (haven't been able to play much due to work)

Grrr, sigh finally an iconic Tauren weapon and I can't really use it on my main (Enh Shaman), would have been nice to offer 1-handed variants or similar for classes that can't wield 2-handers or the spec doesn't allow it.

Big disappointment :(

Shame i did this on my ret pally... and didnt get it. thought it would still drop even if it was on my BE just to unlock the cosmetic. But it indeed, did not. Gonna have to redo the quest on an actual tauren i suppose

Can someone preferably post a picture of their high mountain tauren wielding this weapon, or at least state unequivocally that it is usable by high mountain tauren (and from what level)?

I can confirm that you don't need specific reputations to be able to get the quest!

I just did it with my Tauren Druid and his reputation with Thunder Bluff is only Friendly, also his Renown with the Maruuk Centaur was 6 when I did it. Can also use with on my Highmountain Tauren (need to be lvl 58+).

The quest was just available for me on Valdrakken.

Is this account wide? Done this on my tauren hunter, used it, but it's shown as uncollected on my tauren druid for some reason.
