TLDR:
You need to be renown level 15 with Iskaara to see these and pick them up.

You need these items to improve your fishing equipment that you craft with Iskaara and you find these on the beach at the Alliance starting area (Wild Coast), next to the fishing trainer Danielle Lancialenza . /Way 81.32, 31.37

I've got renown 15 and have the crafting thing unlocked with Tavio. I have 50 fishing and I'm standing by Danielle Anglers. No spawns. Tried relogging.

Renown 15 with the Tuskarr is required to see and loot these.

You can find a lot where the Horde arrives in the Waking shores on the ground

You only need to be renown 15 on one character on your account to pick these up. You do not have to be renown 15 on alts. I like to fish with a Highmountain Tauren because of the chance at 2x fish. I'm only renown 3 on the fishing alt but was still able to pick these up and craft the item.

Wow, i wasted like half an hour trying to fish these up near dragonbane keep not realizing that these were overworld items, wish the flavor text would've been more direct about that.

Yes, you need 15+ renown to get these... however you ALSO need 50+ fishing skill to have them show up. Looked around both alli and horde landing areas with 20 renown and maybe 30 ish fishing for dragonflight. Fished for a bit and came back when i hit 50 fishing and they were all over the place. It might be lower then 50, but thats when i picked to come back.

Easy spot for Alliance at least was around the fishing trainer you first meet when you get off the boat at Walking Shore.

FOund as expected, they glow purple but show up gray in your item box

Would not show up for me until I hit 50 on fishing. Then all 3 popped right at my feet in the area being discussed.

You do NOT fish for these. As Horde, I can tell you they look like little purply glowy things on the ground that you loot -- near the dock when you get off of the zeppelin to the Waking Shores. I'm assuming it's the same for Horde. Once I picked up my required three, I couldn't see any more of them.

Easiest place to find these for horde is by the Zeppelin to Orgrimmar in The Waking Shore at /way 82 27.

It has been said that you require 50+ fishing skill to see these on the ground, as well as a renown of 15 with the Iskaar. I'd like to confirm that is still the case, with a little more information 😉

Your skill of 50 can also include the fishing skill provided by your fishing pole, and any lure that you might attach to it. My alt has Nat Pagle's FC-5000, adding +10 to fishing skill, and I attached the lure from my Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat, which is +7. ie total of +17 to fishing skill. So I presumed that I needed 33 to see them. I was a few points off, so I started fishing next to the alliance fishing trainer in the starting area, and expected them to pop at 33. When they didn't, I was a little confused, but then I realised while I was watching stuff on my other screen, the lure had run out... Oops! Haha! Reattached the lure, and bingo, there they were!

Additionally, only one character on your account needs to have the required renown. I was on an alt with only 6 renown when I found them. I do remember having the renown issue with my main a long long time ago, and having to increase that before I could spot them.

For some reason they would not glow purple nor have sparkles on them even though I'm renown 30 and lvl 100 fishing, so the best way I was able to get these was binding an interact key and spammed that until I got all 3

SPOT OBVIOUS in case nobody realized
These are ground spawn.
I found two at the shoreline and one in the shallow water.

They look like fairly tiny rocks (smaller than a standard fishing bobber) around the area where the fishing trainer is letting you fish.
If your screen values are set like mine they have a faint purple outline, also suitable for chests, disturbed dirt, etc.

"where the lava meets the sea" is the key hint, (edit to merge: near your boat-arrival point for your faction) feels not-so-obvious because the area they are at is not half-lava or dangerous to stand at.

Collected hints from everyone else
Needed:

Renown 15 Tuskarr (only needs to be on any one character, thanks Pezskii)
apparently: 50 fishing (can include bonuses from lures or fishing equipment. h/t Pezski)
possibly: have made others of the Iskaara Fishing items.
don't already have grabbed the items then stashed their soulbound weird thing in the bank. (h/t HappyAnt)

Optional:

Glow set to outlines on (can you see purple or gold outlines or maybe sparkles) for chests and disturbed dirts? then it works for this)
set keybind for Interact (mine is meta-Q as in quest) to pick up the items when you face them.

What Next:
Take them to Tavio in Iskaara
(the fishing gear crafter near the story-hut/inn)
