This toy is currently broken, after 1H have passed, it won't let you reshape again even though you are able to summon the Ethereal guy. So the 1 hour CD, is not correct. I hope Blizzard will fix this ASAP, we spent good money on it, not to have another broken toy, like so many other toys in the game right now...Atleast it doesnt break in combat!

This toy is only available from the in-game store. The base price is currently $10/€10/£9, with there sometimes being a 25% or 50% discount during certain events and holidays (e.g. Winter Veil (Christmas) 2020 discounted the toy by 50%).

The NPC voice lines trigger from these four event types:
Talking to the Ethereal Transmorpher and gaining the costume
Dealing direct damage
Receiving direct damage
Dying (note: the Transmorph costume persists through death)

Each trigger has its own 2-minute internal cooldown, and they can all trigger together in a short time window if you meet the conditions (for example, you can speak to the ethereal NPC to gain the costume and attack a mob who damages you back and kills you , potentially triggering 4 voice lines since each has its own separate cooldown, but you wouldn't be able to get any of the 4 voice line types again until after 2 minutes).

It has been over 5 years since this toy was released and as no additional Transmorphs have been found we can safely assume this is the complete list of transformations you can get from this toy (as of Dragonflight's launch).

Will the buff go off if in combat?

Summons an Ethereal NPC for two minutes that transforms you and party and raid members into random dungeon or raid bosses. Seems to be only bosses that have some voiceover line on pull or in combat since they all yell when you get the costume.

Buff persists through combat, mounting, and death.

Causes you to yell out and play the voicelines when you get the buff, occasionally during combat, and on death if the boss has a death line.

This is a very polished toy, the bosses seem to keep any visuals they would have normally even if not part of the base model such as special glows, being ghostly, or being greyscale in the case of some sha corrupted ones.

Many people may not like it for being a store exclusive but as a person with a lot of alts I'm already having a ton of fun with this and can't wait for raid fun!

/cancelaura Ethereal Transmorpher command can be used to clear the 1hr hidden buff that will let you change who you are or use the toy again. Enjoy!

Easily the best toy in the game. Well worth the $10. Immense amount of fun, whether you are fishing as that 25-M Heroic boss you wiped on countless times or completing that Mythic+ with full party of shapechangers, this toy is well designed!

Fun police has acted quickly and command /cancelaura Ethereal Transmorpher no longer works. Can transform only every hour, even if someone else uses the toy.

Note: It DOES work in battlegrounds, if you use it before entering. You will maintain your shape/image. However, it's not usable inside battlegrounds.

Also, it can and will change your gender, if you weren't aware.

Boring. Just variants of standard humanoid forms. If I wanted to look like a raid boss, it would be more like Vectis, Mythrax, or G'huun.

The Prince Valanar Morph seems bugged. Doesn't let you sheath and unsheath your weapons.

Blizz must be beyond desperate for cash to sell TOYS to people for actual money. Mounts are one thing because you use them to get around and fly and whatnot, but the toys...idk. Not for me I guess.

IMO, THIS is absolutely the BEST WoW toy out right now. Although it does cost $10, it is worth every penny. I have a bunch of toons, and I use this toy on every single one of them. Definitely fun to be had.

Only downside, is that one hour cool down. As well as the fact that the appearance only last 20min.

Also if you have: Specchio di Narcissa your pet WILL take on the appearance of your new appearance as well. Then throw a Palla da Riporto, and it will run back to you, WITH the ball in it's mouth. Hilarious! lol

I hate the cash shop with a passion it is founded on Activison's greed but this is a rare example of being worth its price tag, mainly since it feels like a very rare TCG card of old.

i am happy to say for druids, you maintain the random npc appearance while in forms. the only form you are not the random npc form is travel/flight form.

Can be cast while using a taxi service. Ethereal Transmorpher will spawn on the ground.

Apparently this can also change your weapon as well as your clothing, race, gender, and audio.
My hunter's bow was changed into a purple feathery one when I morphed into Elisande .

Is it more likely to get one costume over another? I think I have used this a couple hundred times at least, but there's still a LOT of costumes I haven't received, that are listed on this page. For example, about every third costume is Hex Lord Malacrass or Marwyn.

Here is a fun note. You'll appear as the character in cutscenes. Just now, Talanji was checking out blood trolls with good old Marwyn! I'm sure people can find a fun way to exploit this.

I really wanted this, during mount camps in 8.3 this was used and every time I enjoyed what was given to me.

So this is what I did I right clicked on my wow token that I bought on the AH using gold, and then I picked the right option: Add $15 to my battlenet account, then I went to the shop in game and then I went to toys and picked this item....

Then the screen went blue, I was transported to another realm in which I was there but I also was already there.

So listen up hear's a story about a little guy that lives in a blue world And all day and all night And everything he sees is just blue like him Inside and outside
blue is his auction house with a blue little shop window and a blue long boi And everything is blue for him and himself And everybody around
Cause he ain't got nobody to listen...

Don't buy from the in game shop.

Just an update from Xmas 2020 and the Shadowlands expansion. The toy was on sale for $5. Terrific toy! You can get some very detailed characters from it and a huge variety of them. They usually wield the weapon you are currently using.

It persists for the full 20 minutes and this clock STOPS if you log out and log back in or even when you sign OUT of the game! In the meantime, the cooldown timer continues to count down in real-time.

The walking, running, fighting, and flying animations work pretty well with each of the characters that I have turned into. Sometimes, the large character size will look completely foolish on a normal-sized riding mount but it usually works out. Casting while fishing animation depends on the character. It works fine with most and not at all with a few. Eating animation works.

The voices are fine and not overly overdone (like the Monks talking ride "HOW ARE YOU today, GRANDMASTER"). The greeting and fighting comments will usually vary when you log back in with the character still active or when battling. When fighting, about every 5th or 6th kill seems to kick off a comment but I have to try it more to see.

Druids are interesting. Cat, Bear, and Treeant forms do NOT change the default boss character. Stealth for cat form and Rogue work the same and make the character semitransparent. Druid ground travel form goes to the stag as usual. Default druid flying is the bird form.

For doing routine running around, it is a nice change of pace to have a new look every time I log in. For $5, definitely worth the buy! I put it up there with the Pocket Fel spreader as the best toy in the game.

just been gifted this toy - claimed it and activated in toy box but when i try to use it says 'this may be locked behind a paywall, like in-game store, another bizzard game or RAF' - what's all that about? i cant use it - any ideas?

If you are Night Fae and cast Soulshape, you keep your transmorphed form, you just run really fast.

This toy has been updated. I used it now, and it transformed me into Millificent Manastorm, the gnome boss from De Other Side dungeon (Shadowlands). So maybe the list should be updated! I will post it if I find a new transformation.
